这幅今年初完成的油画，描绘了一片沐浴在紫色光霭中的葫芦园。纍纍果实垂挂其间，深紫沉静如夜露凝珠，粉紫轻盈似晨光初染，它们在朦胧的光气中彼此依偎、俯仰生姿，共同构成一幅饱满而安宁的丰收图景。

紫色在中国传统中，是祥瑞与贵气的颜色，所谓“紫气东来”，寓意吉兆降临。而葫芦，以其谐音“福禄”与多籽的形态，自古便是福气绵延、子孙昌盛的象征。画面中满盈的葫芦，既是对物阜年丰的直观描绘，亦是对生活圆融、生命丰盈的一份深切祝福。

我以油彩层层叠染，通过色彩的浓淡、笔触的厚薄，营造出光在霭间流动、葫芦在枝头低语的意象。这不是静物写生，而是一场借形与色展开的仪式——将农耕文化中对丰饶的祈愿，转化为可凝视、可感动的视觉诗篇。

《紫霭凝葫》因而超越了单纯的景物描绘。它是一场以色彩为语言、以丰收为寓意的视觉庆典，承载着对当下生活的感恩与对未来年景的美好暗示。愿每一位观者，都能在此驻足，感受那份从传统深处生长出来、又在今日依然鲜活的、圆融而温暖的祝福。

​Purple Mist Shrouding Gourds

This oil painting, completed earlier this year, depicts a gourd garden enveloped in a purplish haze. Clusters of fruit hang peacefully within; deep purples rest as still as dew at night, while soft lavingers gleam like the first wash of dawn. Nestled together in the diffuse light, leaning and turning with quiet grace, they compose a scene both abundant and tranquil—a vision of harvest bathed in mystery.

In Chinese tradition, purple is the color of auspiciousness and nobility, as captured in the phrase "purple qi comes from the east", a harbinger of good fortune. The gourd, with its homophonic link to  “fortune and prosperity” and its seed-rich form, has long symbolized enduring blessings and flourishing lineage. The plentiful gourds shrouded in mist are not only a depiction of material abundance but also a quiet blessing for a harmonious life and vibrant vitality.

Through layered glazes of oil paint, variations in tone, and textured brushwork, I sought to convey the sense of mist gathering around the gourds, light lingering among the vines. This is not a still life, but a meditative act through form and color—translating age-old wishes for abundance into a visual poetry that invites contemplation.

Thus, Purple Mist Shrouding Gourds transcends mere representation. It is a visual ceremony

spoken in hue and atmosphere, a gentle allegory of harvest that holds gratitude for the present and a soft hope for seasons to come. May every viewer pause here and feel that quiet, enduring blessing— woven from tradition, and still breathing today.
