“荷風千里”，不止是風過荷塘的清涼，更是一段筆隨心走、意與景會的漫漫長路。這六組作品，承載了我十餘年來以荷為伴、以塘為境的心跡歷程。

“步步蓮花”作為早期系列，筆觸真摯、情感蓬勃，記錄著最初與一花一葉相望時的坦誠與熱烈。近兩年完成的“混沌之初”“碧水清影”“流光溢彩”“霞光氤氳”“靜夜如思”五組，則以小幅寫意呈現。我以自在的筆觸抒寫對荷塘的眷戀——不拘形似，而求氣韻；不事張揚，而歸於溫婉。

小幅之作，尤在經營意境。方寸之間，  我鋪展混沌初開的氤氳、碧水涵虛的清透、流光交織的絢爛、霞色浸染的朦朧，以及月下荷塘的沉靜。畫面雖小，卻願容納天光水影的流轉，亦安放一份看向內心的寧靜。

“混沌之初”似醒非醒，墨色交融如天地未分； “碧水清影”清澈如語，如一闋宋詞映照其間； “流光溢彩”捕捉盛夏光色，筆觸躍動如金鱗閃爍；  “霞光氤氳”暈染朝暮時分，色彩層疊似光陰輕踱；“靜夜如思”褪去華彩，唯餘月色如洗、水紋如訴——這五組作品，宛如五首以荷為題的視覺詩，不以敘事為要，而以寫意為魂。

“步步蓮花”是來時路，是生長的根；五組小幅近作， 則是延伸的枝、沉澱的果。它們共同構成一場跨越時光的對話——與荷、與光、與水，也與那個始終在筆墨間尋找歸處的自己。

“荷風千里”，千里不在遠，而在深；不在廣，而在真。小幅之中， 可見江湖之遠；寫意之間，可寄情致之婉。願這一縷從畫中拂來的荷風，亦能輕輕抵達您的眼前與心上，帶去一片屬於東方美學的寧靜與悠長。

A Thousand Miles of Lotus Breeze

"A thousand miles of lotus breeze" is more than just the coolness that passes over the lotus pond—it is a long journey where the brush follows the heart, and meaning meets the scene. These six series of works carry the traces of my heart over more than a decade, with the lotus as my companion and the pond as my realm.

Lotus Blooms with Every Step, as an early series, is marked by sincere brushwork and flourishing emotion, recording the candor and fervor of first gazing upon each flower and leaf. The five series completed in recent years—In the Beginning of Chaos, Clear Ripples in Jade Water, Flowing Light, Luminous Color, Mist-veiled Glow of Sunset, and Quiet Night, Deep Thoughts—are presented as small-format works in the style of freehand expression. With an unrestrained brush, I express my affection for the lotus pond—not confined to formal resemblance, but seeking its spirit and rhythm; not striving for ostentation, but returning to subtle grace.

In small-scale works, the cultivation of artistic conception is especially important. Within a compact space, I unfold the misty haze of chaos at dawn, the translucent clarity of jade-like water, the dazzling interplay of flowing light, the dreamy wash of sunset glow, and the stillness of the lotus pond under moonlight. Though the images are small, they seek to contain the flow of sky-light and water-shadow, and also hold a quietude that turns inward.

In the Beginning of Chaos hovers between waking and dreaming, ink tones blending like heaven and earth yet unparted; Clear Ripples in Jade Water is clear as speech, like a lyric from the Song Dynasty reflected within; Flowing Light, Luminous Color captures the light and color of midsummer, brushstrokes shimmering like golden scales; Mist-veiled Glow of Sunset washes over dawn and dusk, layers of color like time gently pacing; Quiet Night, Deep Thoughts sheds all brilliance, leaving only moonlit clarity and ripples that speak like whispers— these five series are like five visual poems on lotus, not focused on narrative, but on the soul of freehand expression.

Lotus Blooms with Every Step is the path taken, the root of growth; the five recent small- format series are the extending branches, the settling fruit. Together they form a dialogue across time—with the lotus, with the light, with the water, and with the self that is always seeking a place of return within brush and ink.

"A thousand miles of lotus breeze": the distance lies not in remoteness, but in depth; not in breadth, but in truth. Within small frames, one may glimpse the expanse of rivers and lakes; within freehand expression, gentle sentiments may be entrusted. May this breeze of lotus, wafting from the paintings, also lightly arrive before your eyes and within your heart, bringing a tranquility and lasting resonance that belong to Eastern aesthetics.

A journey of a thousand miles begins beneath the brush. And now, we meet by this lotus pond.
