On the Verge of Blooming

This 2016 piece is my focused capture of "the moment before blooming". In the painting, red and green intertwine to form a warm, rich base, with light green blending in naturally like a halo—together, they create a chromatic realm that nurtures life.

The touches of pink scattered throughout serve as the focal point of the composition. Sparsely distributed and delicately hinted, they resemble buds just emerging among the leaves, holding a subtle glow within the overall warm tones. Though not depicted in defined forms, each stroke of color seems to whisper, conveying the quiet excitement that precedes unfolding.

Dense and layered textures spread across the canvas—these are the natural imprints left by growth, and also a kind of full yet silent inner tension. The entire image is like a visual poem about waiting, not portraying full bloom, but gazing intently at the gathering momentum and anticipation in every moment before it unfolds.
