The Sunset-Lit Lotus Pond

Standing before the painting is like stepping into that eternal dusk.

Orange-yellow is the undertone poured by the setting sun, soaking everything from lotus leaves to darting fish—warm and radiant. Beneath this glow, blues, greens, and purples quietly spread into a lake, deep as the prelude to night.

Six pink lotuses bloom in stillness, each cradling a petal or two of jade before it—like cups formed by time itself, holding silence within. The brushstrokes are artless, childlike—the very form of a heart's first impression.

A few orange fish flicker like leaping light, tracing shimmering verses into the deep water.

Years later, that evening remains intact within the painting: everything gilded, the lake tender, the twilight embracing the coming starry night without reserve.
