人们总以为自己有了一面好镜子之后终于能歇心了。但事实恰相反。借用拉康的“镜像理论”来解释，人总以为看见了自己，接着完善或美化自己，进而就能控制自己以及自己在他人心中的形象。但反过来，我们是否会被自己所想要创造的形象所控制？

镜子作为一种媒介，一方面在所谓的“现实”与“虚拟”的二重世界之间划开了无法逾越的界限，另一方面，又是二者接触和交流的唯一介质：是人由“实在界”进入“想象界”的关键道具。幻想被拉进一个无时间、无空间的存在里。

Men always think that they can relax if they have a perfect mirror. However, reality is always the opposite. According to Jacques Lacan‘s Mirror Phase, man always think they see through themselves, and are trying to improve and beautify themselves, in order to control their images. But inversely, are they controlled by the image they intend to create?

As an intermedia, mirror has made a gap between the so-called "reality" and "fiction" which is impossible to pass through. On the other hand, mirror is the only way that can let these two elements get in touch and communicate: it is the key point for people to step into their "dreamworld" from the "real world". The fantasy has been pulled into an area where doesn't have time and space.

徐子薇的创作源于她一直以来对现实和虚拟关系的探索，和在生活中去寻找矛盾的、非常规认知的“异类”的浓厚兴趣。她常常以光为媒介进行创作，当我们去探索这个外部世界的时候，主要都依赖视觉，而视觉的成立正是由于“光”这一介质的传播。光所呈现的未知、空洞的视觉体验，映射出具有无限可能性但是又不可触摸、无法证实的空间。

Xu Ziwei's artwork originates from her constant exploration of the relationship between reality and virtual, and her keen interest in finding contradictory and unconventional cognitive "alien" in her life. She often uses light as the medium for her works: when we explore the outside world, we mainly rely on vision, and the establishment of vision is precisely due to the propagation of light. The unknown and void visual experience presented by light reflects the space with infinite possibilities but untouchable and unverifiable.
