  四川铜币，是晚清和北洋时期四川省地方政权铸造的货币。由于川省银铜矿缺乏，加之辛亥革命以后军阀割据，致使中央政府《币制条例》关于铜币之原料比例、铜币面额的规定没有严格遵守，四川铜币发行量十分巨大，致使物价虚高、影响经济发展。四川铜币，自光绪二十九（1903年）六月开铸，至民国二十四年（1935年）十一月法币开始流通才逐渐退出流通领域。

  “四川军政府造钱币”具有十分深刻而丰富的寓意，币中间的芙蓉花图案，取自于相传后蜀皇帝孟昶在城上遍植芙蓉花，因此，成都得到了一个富有诗意的雅称——芙蓉城。而成都历来为四川的省会，成渝军政府合并后，成都更成为当时四川的政治、经济、文化中心。芙蓉城便成为了四川这一中心城市——成都的美称和象征。从广义上来说也代表了四川。因此与文字配合在“四川银(铜)币”四字中嵌入一朵盛开的芙蓉花，丰富和加强了地域特色和文化象征含义，同时也使该类币的版式设计更具艺术性。

 此枚四川铜币军政府造当制钱一百文，重约：21.4g；直径约：3.99cm，锈色古旧，包浆老道，纹饰深邃。钱币正面中央珠圈内有“四川铜币”四字对读，字体端正，工整清秀，中心纹有芙蓉花纹，小巧玲珑，十分别致。珠圈外上缘纹有“军政府造”四字，下缘为“当制钱壹百文”字样，左右饰以星花纹饰之。铜币背面中央大圆圈内为一篆书“汉”字，因而钱币收藏者也称之为“汉”字铜元。“汉”字底有数十条横直纹，层次分明，雕刻工艺高超。“汉”字圆圈外还环绕有18个小圆圈，代表当时的十八个省。把18个小圆圈围绕着“汉”字联成一体，寓意十八省人民团结起来共同为“驱逐鞑虏，恢复中华”而战斗，寓意深刻鲜明。
