从2014年起，艺术家俊·玛米回到故乡越南北部山区，对当地石灰矿开采对环境、生态、物种多样性以及人文生活所造成的灾难性影响展开了持续调研，并以此创作了一系列不同媒介的作品。正在广东时代美术馆举行的展览“格物致知”选取了其中的四件展出。

《呼吸之间，无物静止》取自当地芒族的传说“水与土的诞生”：在一场巨大的灾难过后，上帝创造了水和泥土，而水和泥土中孕育了万物。这种众生平等的万物有灵信念自始至终贯穿在艺术家的影像当中。喷射石灰粉末的“火山”、游移于展厅地面的山石和飘动的窗帘，艺术家在传说中找到现实的对照，并提出质疑：人类是否需要在牺牲自然的情况下才能满足自身需求？人与自然的界限是否存在？这是一个“由结束处开始的故事”，一切都指向灾难后的未来。我们是在见证大自然的终结，还是新的开始？

Namo Amitābhāya
Sitting, weeping, grieving, seeing a drifting boat

As the ghost wanders on top of the jade mountain

Amidst heavenly mountains and ending fates,

    the ghost flies

You, the ghost, have long remained in this

    worldly realm

Now that time is up, the Buddha carries you away

Ghost, please follow the silver road
Ghost, do not get lost in the green road
The silver road is the ascetic road
The green road is the infernal road

The ghost descends into earth, disappearing

    from the worldly realm

Elderly saints and descendants walk the shadow 

    ‘til the ghost attains salvation

Chanting the sutras to rescue the suffering

Chanting the sutras to guide the ghost

The elderly turn into saints
The descendants concur

Piling soil and sand on the burial mound

Walking the shadow to the finished grave

The ghost please remain here
In the next three days

If an inquisition occurs, the ghost shall speak

Ghost, please speak fluently:
I, the ghost, hail from a Northern place,

    an Eastern place

In smooth waters, I, the ghost, am now unburdened

Heaven is father
Earth is mother
Mountains and rivers are brothers

Here stands the flag that marks an otherworldly realm

The first day of the lunar month, ghost, please come

    searching for nourishment

You lucky ghost,

You propitious ghost,
Come to the pagoda’s threshold, ghost, and receive

    the buddha’s fortune
