陈曦很长时间是用表现式的写实方法来不断呈现都市的世俗生活的。这种都市生活首先是当代的、现实的；其次是中国的、随处可见的。这些作品里的图景不是一般意义上的客观描述，而是在绘画中具有艺术家个人的主观态度。

　　作为女性艺术家的陈曦，没有在这些作品中特别强调自中国20世纪90年代以来最流行的女性主义视角，仅仅表现了她对变动中的中国城市和人群的主观记录。我们可以体味到那些日常生活的平凡、轻松，甚至幽默和诙谐。

Urban Desire and Ordinaryiness

　　Chen Xi has spent a long time to presents the mundane urban life through expressionism representation. This urban life is firstly contemporary and realistic, and secondly, Chinese and common-seeing. The scenes in her works are not the objective description at normal sense, but bear the artist‘s subjective attitude.

　　Chen Xi as a female artist, expresses only her subjective record to the fluctuant Chinese cities and communities, in stead of emphasizing the Feminism perspective， which has been the most popular viewpoint in China since 1990s. From her works， we could appreciate the mediocrity, relaxation, even humor and wittiness in daily life.
