一、展览名称

呼和浩特“一带一路”国际雕塑作品展

二、征集背景

自古以来,呼和浩特便是东西方交流的枢纽,因其地理位置优越,自然资源丰富,在草原丝绸之路的形成与发展中扮演着重要的角色。新时代,呼和浩特在“一带一路”倡议下充分发挥区位优势,为国际间的经贸往来、文化传播提供了重要平台。

今年是共建“一带一路”倡议提出十周年,呼和浩特计划通过雕塑这一特定的文化载体来展示其悠久的历史和多元的文化面貌,同时突出其国际化开放的态度,因此特在全球范围内征集优秀的雕塑作品举办呼和浩特“一带一路”国际雕塑作品展。展览将汇集一批国内外优秀雕塑作品,呈现中西方文化和雕塑艺术的交流与融合,并择优在呼和浩特“一带一路”国际雕塑公园内落地作为永久收藏。

三、作品征集

1、总主题

和平合作、开放包容、互学互鉴、互利共赢

方向1:文明互鉴、命运共同

反映人类命运共同体构建和美好愿景相关题材的雕塑作品。题材包括但不限于历史上丝绸之路和新时代“一带一路”合作精神的创新型题材。作品应呈现出多元文明的交融与碰撞,展现出文明之间的互学互鉴。无论是历史还是现代都需要以艺术的创造力和想象力,描绘人类命运紧密相连、相互依赖的理念,展现出人类在面对未来挑战时的坚韧与毅力的作品,以及在构建人类命运共同体的美好愿景。

方向2:中华文化、交融魅力

以铸牢中华民族共同体意识为主线,立足展现中华优秀文化,建设中华民族现代文明的作品。题材主要依托内蒙古厚重的历史文化和丰富的人文资源,着力创作各民族交往交流交融、守望相助、弘扬蒙古马精神和“三北精神”等,服务“北疆文化”品牌塑造,面向传承发展好根植在北疆大地上的优秀文化,凝聚起强大精神力量。

2、征集时间

(1)作品征集:2023年7月24日至8月25日;

(2)作品评审:2023年9月1日前,由艺委会组织专家评审出100件入围作品。评选结果将在中国城市雕塑家协会官方微信公众号公布;

(3)作品创作及运输:由组委会秘书处通知入围作者并签订参展协议,在2023年 9月25日前将雕塑作品运至呼和浩特,运费由组委会承担;

(4)作品展示:2023年9月底在呼和浩特市举办“呼和浩特‘一带一路’国际雕塑作品展”;

3、征集的入围作品与奖项设置

本次活动经评委评出100件入围作品,承办方将对入围作品承担一定的创作与材料经费。入围作品作者将获邀参加展览开幕、学术研讨、艺术家采风活动等活动,该费用由主办城市承担。同时入围作品作者还将获赠呼和浩特“一带一路”国际雕塑作品展画册等纪念品,并获颁入围证书。

展览将在入围的100件雕塑作品中评选出20件优秀作品,并与主办城市签订收藏协议,收藏作品将于2024年择时择优落地于呼和浩特市“一带一路”国际雕塑公园。

4、征集作品要求

(1)投稿作品应符合艺术审美价值体系、体现创作主题及文化定位,力求具有创造性、文化性及示范性,并具备可实施性、安全性和永久性。

(2)投稿者应针对征集主题进行创作,注重对所选主题文化的深刻理解与分析。

(3)所有征集作品应考虑到放大后进入呼和浩特“一带一路”国际雕塑公园公共空间的艺术要求,能融入户外环境,作品的放大具有可加工性、安全性;作品材质的选择具有永久性。

四、作品提交

1、投稿要求及方式

投稿要求:投稿者需向主办方同时提交应征作品相关材料纸质版和电子版。

投稿方式:2023年8月25日前将报名登记表(附件1)与作品图片等电子信息发到组委会指定邮箱18513731705@163.com。

2、报名登记表

所有投稿作者自行到中国城市雕塑家协会官方微信公众号下载《呼和浩特“一带一路”国际雕塑作品展征集报名登记表》。

3、投稿作品图片(附件2)

(1)作品图片可以是作品照片、作品效果图或泥塑小稿照片,每件作品需要主视角图片1张,其他视角图片3张,200字左右创作说明。所提交作品图片编排文件规格为A3大小,分辨率不低于300dpi,排版版式要求参见附件2:提交文件模板;

(2)为公正评选,电子稿作品图片和说明中均不得出现有关作者姓名、单位或标识等信息。

(3)组委会对所有参选文档、图片资料存档,不予退还。请作者自行保存备份。报送材料逾期将不被接收。

(4)参加本次征集活动的作品资料,以及发送至组委会的信息、信函、通知、申诉、申请等,可使用中英文对照,以中文为准。

4、知识产权保护:

(1)参展作者须遵守中华人民共和国宪法和法律,具有良好、端正的职业道德,申报的作品不得侵犯其他第三方的专利权、著作权、商标权、名誉权或其他任何合法权益。

(2)参展作者申报的项目所包含的任何文字、图片、图形、音像资料,均受版权、商标权和其它所有权的法律保护,未经参展作者同意,上述资料不得用于征集活动以外的其它行为。

(3)雕塑展主办单位有权对雕塑作品进行作品汇编的出版、发行以及授权征集活动组织方公益使用。

(4)所有征集作品均须为本次征集主题原创,不得抄袭。如有任何版权纠纷,取消参评资格,法律责任由投稿者本人承担。

(5)20件获奖作品在签订收藏协议后,三年内不得用于呼和浩特“一带一路”国际雕塑公园以外的城市雕塑项目建设。

Call for Artworks for the Hohhot Belt and Road International Sculpture Exhibition

I. Title

Hohhot Belt and Road International Sculpture Exhibition

II. Background

Hohhot has been the hub of exchanges between the East and the West since ancient times. Due to its superior geographical location and rich natural resources, Hohhot plays an important role in the formation and development of the Grassland Silk Road. In this new era, as China rolls out the Belt and Road initiative, Hohhot, with its outstanding position on the Silk Road, provides an important platform for international economic and trade exchanges and cultural communication.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the joint development of the Belt and Road initiative. Hohhot plans to present its long history and diverse cultural outlooks through sculpture art, a specific cultural carrier, while highlighting its international vision and open attitude. Therefore, it calls for excellent sculptures from all over the world to jointly participate in the Hohhot Belt and Road International Sculpture Exhibition. With first-class sculptures at home and abroad, the Exhibition will present the exchange and integration of Chinese and Western cultures and sculpture art, and those excellent works will be landed at the Hohhot Belt and Road International Sculpture Park as permanent collections.

III. Call for Artworks

1. General Theme

Peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning, and shared benefits

Orientation 1: Mutual learning among civilizations with shared destiny

The artworks should center on the building of a community with shared future for mankind and great visions, including but not limited to innovative themes of the Silk Road in history and cooperative spirits of the Belt and Road in the new era. The artworks need to showcase cultural fusion and interaction among diversified civilizations and their mutual learning. Whether they are rooted in history or inspired from modern society, it is necessary to display artistic creativity and imagination in the depiction of closely related and shared future, human tenacity and perseverance in the face of future challenges, and great visions of building a community with shared future for mankind.

Orientation 2: Chinese cultures and charm of cultural fusion

With a focus on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, the Exhibition is committed to displaying the excellent Chinese culture and modern civilization of the Chinese nation. Themed on profound historical cultures and rich human resources in Inner Mongolia, it focuses on creations about exchanges and integration of various ethnic groups moving forward with mutual assistance, the Mongolian horse spirit, and the spirit of Three-North to serve the brand building of “Culture of Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region” and gather strong momentum for the inheritance and development of excellent cultures on this land.

2. Time for Artworks Collection

(1) Call for artworks: July 24 to August 25, 2023;

(2) Review: the experts organized by the Art Committee will review and select 100 shortlisted works by September 1, 2023. The shortlist will be published on the official WeChat account of the Chinese Urban Sculpture Artists Association;

(3) Creation and transportation: the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee will notify the shortlisted artists and sign an exhibition agreement with them. All shortlisted works shall be transported to Hohhot by September 25, 2023;

(4) Work exhibition: the Hohhot Belt and Road International Sculpture Exhibition will be held in Hohhot City at the end of September 2023;

3. Shortlisted Artworks and Awards

The costs of creation and materials of those 100 shortlisted artworks will be partly borne by the organizer. The shortlisted artists will be invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Exhibition, academic workshops, field trips, etc., whose costs will be borne by the host city. Meanwhile, every shortlisted artist will receive an album of those exhibits and a certificate.

A total of 20 outstanding works will be selected from 100 shortlisted artworks, and the host city will sign a collection agreement with those 20 artists. All artworks collected will be landed in the Hohhot Belt and Road International Sculpture Park at a preferred time in 2024.

4. Requirements for Artworks

(1) The artworks shall conform to the aesthetic value of art, the theme and cultural orientation, and strive to be creative, culture-representative, and exemplary with practical basis, safety, and permanence.

(2) The artists shall create works based on the themes and show deep understanding and analysis of the selected theme.

(3) All artworks shall take into account the artistic requirements for the Hohhot Belt and Road International Sculpture Park after enlargement, and can be integrated into the outdoor environment. The enlarged works shall be machinable and safe with permanent materials.

IV. Submission

1. Requirements and Approach

Requirements: the artists need to submit both printed and electronic materials to the organizer simultaneously.

Approach: the artists need to send the registration form (Appendix 1) and pictures of the artworks to the email address given by the Organizing Committee (18513731705@163.com) by August 25, 2023.

2. Registration Form

All artists shall download the Registration Form of Calling for Artworks for the Hohhot Belt and Road International Sculpture Exhibition from the official WeChat account of the Chinese Urban Sculpture Artists Association.

3. Pictures of Artworks (Appendix 2)

(1) The pictures of artworks can be a picture or rendering of the work, or a photo of the model. Each piece of artwork needs one picture from the front perspective, three pictures from other perspectives, and a description with around 200 Chinese characters. All pictures shall be in A3 size with a resolution of no less than 300 dpi. Please refer to Appendix 2 Template for Submission for the format;

(2) For the sake of fair selection, the artist’s name, employer, or logo shall not be displayed in the picture or description of the electronic artworks.

(3) The Organizing Committee will archive all the documents and pictures, which will not be returned to the artists. Please keep the backups by yourselves. The overdue submissions will not be accepted.

(4) All materials, as well as information, letters, notices, appeals, and applications sent to the Organizing Committee, can be in both Chinese and English, but the Chinese version shall prevail.

4. Protection of Intellectual Property Rights:

(1) The artists must have professional ethics and shall abide by the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China and other laws. The artworks declared by the artists shall not infringe upon the patent rights, copyrights, trademark rights, reputation rights, or any other legal rights or interests of other third parties;

(2) Any texts, pictures, graphics, and audio-visual materials included in the projects declared by the artists are protected by the law related to copyright, trademark rights, and other proprietorship and shall not be used for any other purposes other than the Exhibition without the consent of the artists;

(3) The organizer of the sculpture exhibition has the right to publish and distribute the compilation of sculptures and authorize the organizer of the Exhibition to use them for public welfare;

(4) All artworks must be original based on the theme of the Exhibition, and plagiarism is not allowed. In case of any copyright disputes, the artists will be disqualified from the Exhibition and liable for any legal responsibility by themselves;

(5) Once the collection agreements are signed, all 20 outstanding works shall not be used in the urban sculpture projects other than the Hohhot Belt and Road International Sculpture Park within three years.
