It is a incense burner created in Xuande period of Ming Dynasty. It is usually used in mausoleums, temples and powerful houses to burn incense, worship Buddha and worship ancestors.

During the 300 years of Ming Dynasty, countless artifacts were made, which can be called excellent works. Xuande stove, as one of them, can be said to have no way to learn from before, but can't be continued later. It is worthy of being an exquisite antique between heaven and earth. It is the crystallization of the wisdom and art of ancient Chinese craftsmen.

The basic shape of Xuande stove is open, square or round lips, short and thin neck, flat and bulging belly, three blunt cone-shaped solid feet or split crotch empty feet, with bridge shaped ears, Le shaped ears or animal shaped ears on the mouth. The inscriptions are more than the bottom of the stove, similar to Xuande porcelain.

The characteristics of Xuande stove are as follows: first, there are many raw materials, in addition to copper, there are gold, silver and other valuable materials, so the stove is very delicate, dark purple or dark brown. The second is that refining is more complicated. Generally, the furnace charge has to be refined four times, while Xuande furnace has to be refined twelve times, so the furnace quality will be more pure and fine, such as baby skin. Spreading history

When he was in power, it was said that the Buddha Hall in the palace was on fire, and gold, silver and bronze statues were mixed into liquid. It is also said that the Buddhist scriptures were on fire, and the gold, silver, jewelry and copper were sintered together, so emperor Xuande ordered them to be cast into a copper furnace. Emperor Xuande asked the foundry workers, how many times can copper be refined? The caster replied that if copper is smelted with six heats, the luster of jewelry will appear. So emperor Xuande ordered twelve fires to be smelted to make copper strips. Then melt the copper bar with red fire, place it on the sieve lattice made of steel, select the purest one dropped first and make it into a furnace, and take out the one still on the sieve lattice and make it into other utensils.

In the middle period of Xuande, Xuande stove imitated the burning spot of Song Dynasty, which covered the essence of the stove. It was soaked, wiped and smoked with a kind of foreign brine to change the color into wax tea. At the end of Xuande, it showed more natural color and lighter coloring. Later generations commented that Xuande stove has five colors: chestnut shell, eggplant skin, pear, brown, and the color of Buddhist Scripture paper

Xuande furnaces handed down from generation to generation are rare and expensive.
