自然的启示

  “万物之始,源于一团混沌的气体。”

  《自然的启示》高2米,宽30米。是张进1983至1984年创作的一幅纸本彩墨长卷,是80年代前期艺术生态中,背离主流美术,强调个人风格的重要作品。

  《自然的启示》是画家以陕西岐山至秦岭太白山的自然景象为载体,在特定的历史背景和现实情景下,以独立思想和自由精神为前提,寓母体文化于生命本体之中,以实验性、开放性、颠覆性及各种随机、偶然因素重构的山水文化景观,是一幅具有划时代和史诗般的作品。

  张进认为:老子、庄子、萨特、佛洛依德学说是其作品的理论基础。作品在古朴与现代的意味中涌动着一种异乎寻常的气象及合乎常理的隐喻,同时也是现实存在与个人理想的结合。艺术家在传统艺术与现代艺术的冲突撞击中,理性地表现着自然与文明的轨迹,以正当的理由和非正当的方式创作了这幅超前性的作品。

  《自然的启示》不仅涉及诸多文化概念,如传统与现代、内容与形式、现实与历史等,还直接关系到艺术形式的创新。张进认为:现代水墨还是应该本着“古为今用,洋为中用”、“中学为体,西学为用”的原则,走一条自己的路。这样才能不限于传统笔墨,也不是西方观念的水墨画,又保持文化的独立性,从而具有艺术的普遍性和终极价值。

  《自然的启示》另一特点是时间、思维与尺幅的高度统一,在时空维度上突破传统空间的局限,展现出恢宏与厚重的历史,具有时代

  赋予的独特震撼力。在张进近半个世纪的艺术创作中,这件杰作的学术价值极为重要,对于研究85艺术思潮、实验水墨以及当代水墨变革的各个阶段都有重要意义。

  《自然的启示》复制品限量99版,并带有艺术家签名、印章和版号,其中版号藏匿,利于防伪。发行之后,原作进入全球美术馆档案收藏体系,限量复制品将广泛用于展览活动以及画廊、博览会、拍卖等二次销售。

Natural Enlightenment

  "The beginning of all things, is derived from a cloud of chaotic gas."

  "Natural Enlightenment" is a work of H200cm * W3000cm. It is an ink-wash long scroll painting created by Zhang Jin between 1983 and 1984. It is one of his most important art works, and deviates from the mainstream art ecology of the early 80's – a true expression of his individual artistic style.

  In "Natural Enlightenment", the painter used the natural scenery of Mount Qi in Shaanxi and Mount Taibai of the Qinling Mountains – as his inspiration. Under specific historical backgrounds and existing contexts, Zhang Jin took independent thinking and a free spirit as his preconditions, and embedded this cultural matrix into his body of work. He incorporated various elements, including experimental, open, subversive, even random and accidental factors, to recompose the scene as in shanshui culture. The result is an epoch-making and epic masterpiece.

  Zhang Jin believes the theoretical foundation of his works comes from the influences of Laozi, Zhuangzi, Sartre and Sigmund Freud. His art work expresses an unusual atmosphere and common metaphors, where a sense of simplicity and modernity merge. At the same time, his art is a combination of reality and personal ideals. Confronted with the conflict between traditional art and modern art, the painter expresses his rational understanding of the trajectory of nature, time, space and cultural civilization, to create this pioneering piece of art; with justified reasoning, and unconventional methods.

  Besides talking about cultural concepts, such as traditional vs. modern, content vs. form, reality vs. history, the "Natural Enlightenment" also directly involves the innovation of the art form. Zhang believes that contemporary Chinese ink painting should be rooted in the principles of: "make the

  past serve the present, and adapt foreign thinking to Chinese thinking"; and that "Chinese thought should be seen as the fundamental structure for thinking, and that Western thought should be referenced for actual methods of practice." We need to find our own way. In this way, we are not limited to traditional ink painting, nor the ink paintings that Westerners are familiar with, but are able to maintain cultural independence and produce art that is of ultimate, universal value.

  Another highlight of the "Natural Enlightenment" is its high degree of unifying time, thinking and scale. It breaks through the limitations of traditional space, and showcases a magnificent and dense history, which has had a unique impact through the eras. Across Zhang Jin's near

  half a century art creation, this masterpiece holds a significant amount of academic value. It is significant in artistic periods ranging from the research of the "85 New Wave", experimental ink painting to contemporary ink painting.

  The "Natural Enlightenment" is produced as a limited edition of 99.Each one comes with the painter's signature, seal and edition number. The edition number is hidden for anti-counterfeiting purposes. After distribution, the original work will enter the archive and collection system of global art museums, while the replicas will be widely used for exhibitions and secondary sales in galleries, art fairs, and auctions.
