艺术的一个令人注目的特点是其不可预见性。在时间的长河中，艺术家们进行艺术创作时，一方面反映出其对品味、理想的探索，同时也关注大众的审美需求。但是，生活在当今社会的艺术家们，会超越自身文化所限，从整个世界中去获取他们的灵感。

　　艺术家们的探索有时候是孤独的，他们以超越常人的感悟、激情去追寻自身的兴趣。其中一些佼佼者，他们的艺术创作有时是事物来临的先兆，他们以艺术世界的运动震撼观赏者的视觉感受。无论结果如何，社会应该感谢这些艺术家，是他们，带领我们以崭新的思维方式观察世界、经历周边事物。艺术的这一特征在二十世纪表现得尤为显著。今天国际化频繁的艺术交流，缩小了世界的政治边界，创造了史无前例的国际艺术浩大场面。

　　今天，尊敬的陈文光先生，就是这样一位艺术家。他超越其中国文化传统，致力于日本画的研究，并创造出自己的独特风格，因此在中国、在日本都已赢得认可。而他的这一国际化精神，是使他来到地球的另一面同样受到欢迎的原因。

　　In their quest, they are sometimes solitary, pursuing their interests with a passion beyond the comprehension of the people around them. At other times, the styles they champion are harbingers of things to come, movements that might stand the art world on its ear and astound the eyes of viewers. Whatever the outcome, society owes a deep debt to its artists who, through experiment, can lead us to new ways of seeing and experiencing the world around us. This is particularly true in the twentieth century, when advances in travel and communication have served to diminish political boundaries and create an unprecedented international art scene. Today’s honored artist, Wenguang  Chen, is just such an international artist. Looking beyond the traditions of native China, he has pursued his interest in Japanese-style painting with admirable determination. Chen has managed to create his own unique style that has earned him recognition both in China and in Japan. It is this spirit of internalization that makes it entirely fitting that we welcome him to other side of the globe.
