不守绳墨•游刃有余

  黎明的山水画作乃今日岭南派山水的表表者。“师法大自然”是高剑父创作山水画的一个重要理论。黎明谨遵师言,笔下之山水,峻拔奇伟,层峰叠嶂,山中凝翠泛绿,一瀑如练,夕晕万道,即所谓“不守绳墨”,又“游刃有余”,满纸云烟,适如关山月在参观1996年于广州岭南画派纪念馆举办的“黎明画展”展出的巨幅山水前所说的:“这些新画够气魄!”诚然,这些山水画作抒发了黎明先生胸中的丘壑,正所谓“运用之妙,存乎一心”也。作为一个活跃于澳门及香港的画家,他于近些年常出国写生。他的笔下,既有中国名山大川的雄姿,也有《澳门海角》、《三巴夕照》以及香港的写生,更有科罗拉多的危崖急流,大峡谷的巉岩壁立,比岭南派的先辈们的视野更为广阔。他身体力行地实践其恩师的指导,这些巨构新作,不断地涌现自其笔端,恰好说明了黎明不愧是岭南派的一大传人。而为人津津乐道。

  对于这位居住于香港的岭南派画家,专家多有的论,此处不妨援引二家,以证斯言不虚。广州美术馆馆长卢延光曾这样评价黎明的画:“他的画画得很美,特别是对形的掌握恰到火候,很会造势,无论花鸟、山水和人物都表达得相当精致,可以看到他的基本功夫非常过硬;他的色彩也得其正宗,运用非常娴熟,对撞水、撞彩的修炼往往使我惊叹,高剑父的前期、中年的画也不外如是。就画画而言,广东这个派系的一些知名画家尽管使尽看家本领也画不过他。”……

  Lai Ming is the standout in today’s Lingnan painting of landscape. “Painting from nature” is an important theory for landscape painting by Gao Jianfu. Lai followed his teacher’s guidance to create magnificent mountains and peaks, a verdant scene of life. “These new works show great vigor!” said renowned painter Guan Shanyue in front of a large landscape painting at an exhibition of Lai Ming’s paintings held at Lingnan Memorial Museum of Paintings in Guangzhou in 1996. Indeed, these landscape paintings have expressed the delicate feelings deep in Mr. Lai’s heart. As an active painter in Macao and Hong Kong, he often sketches overseas in recent years. These works include famous mountains in China, “Cape in Macao”, “Afterglow at the Ruinsof St. Paul’s” and landscape in Hong Kong, or even cliffs and jet streams in Colorado, precipice and stone of Grand Canyon. He has wider horizons than his Lingnan predecessors. He takes action to practice what he teacher taught him and his new masterpieces exactly prove that he is such a great successor of the Lingnan School.

  Comments have been made by experts on this Hong Kong-based Lingnan painter. Let me quote some to support my words. Lu Yanguang, Curator of Guangzhou Art Gallery comments Lai’s paintings and says, “His paintings are beautiful, especially as he perfectly grasps the shape of the objects. No matter flowers and birds, landscape or figures, he depicts all of them delicately. We can see that he has very strong basic skills. He is also familiar with the usage of colour. His excellent painting techniques shock me as the quality of his paintings are comparable with Gao Jianfu’s works in his early and middle stage. Some renowned Lingnan painters even demonstrate all their skills in their paintings are not able to create better works than Lai.
