应麦可是一位坚守在深圳本土的抽象艺术家，他以自身的个体生存现实为源点，随观深圳这个移民城市的都市化进程，琢磨实验新的观念、材料、技法语言，初步建构出自己独特的抽象绘画品格。应麦可的“中国式山水”系列及其他，多以正方形构图，微妙的线条结构和多维度的视觉交互秩序分明，体现出空间张力的无限延展性。叠复与解构、涌动与渗透、暗深与澄亮，古典写生情景式山水中的具体物象被击碎消解，又在画面各个不可预知的角落渐形次成新的视觉图景。无论其创作主题为“山水有序”还是“再制山水”，应麦可的中国式抽象山水寄怀，并非传统水墨所要传达的文人山水，而是一种精神山水，一种根植于朴素精神家园的艺术化意象呈现。

　　Ying Maike is a local abstract artist based in Shenzhen. He uses the reality of his individual existence as the source, and he has observed the urbanization progress of Shenzhen as an immigrant city. Ying Maike has improved and experimented with new concepts, materials and painting techniques. Hehas established his own unique abstract painting character. His “Chinese Landscape” series and other pieces are mainly done in a square composition. They have a delicate line structure which interacts with a mufti-dimensional vision that is orderly and clear. It shows an infinite extension of a special tension. His work has been described as overlapping and deconstructing, upwelling and permeating, as well as dark and bright. The specific images in classical sketches of landscapes have been smashed and cleared up, and he has formed a new sub-shaped visual image with unpredictable corners on the picture. From his “Orderly Landscape” to “Reconstruction of Landscape”, the expression of Ying Maike’s Chinese abstract landscapesare not the kind of scholarly landscapes expressed through ink painting. Instead, they are more of a spiritual landscape, an artistic image expression that is rooted in the authentic spiritual home.
