LING Song

　　ZHANG Jian is my college-mate and there is a special thing nice and sad in his personality, good and kind. We once held his solo exhibition themed at this.

　　I pay much attention to his works in different periods of times. The earliest one should be impressionistic sceneries and big villa in bright sunshine, basically men's life, birds' singing, flowers in the sun, scenes and stories of this kind; Later it ccame the water in Houhai, when his personal experiences became strong and things of experiences increased, his personal poetic and romantic things became emerge, mixed with many complex feelings and factors. You will see a kind of touching inside or some kind of thinking, then more appearances further. Personally I preferred the style with some abstract things, for I think in the creation of this style, ZHANG Jian can fully show his personality out.

　　As I remember, there is still that kind of inornate feeling I had when I first saw he painting in the quadrate yard. Actually, besides the special pursuit of nicety and purity, ZHANG Jian's persistence in ideal and belief is quite valuable.

　　Extensively speaking, his heart and sincere attitude towards art in his works of the previous two period of times had something to do with the world outside, or reflected something of his academy or others. But this could not longer be seen in his recent works.

　　I think nowadays ZHANG Jian has become mature and found his own appearance and personality and exerted them out in the process. I find that ZHANG Jian has already found a way wider and wider. In this aspect, ZHANG Jian should have more widely opened mind and huger force to keep on going along the way, even though it will be relatively slow or not fawning.

　　I like ZHANG Jian's paintings and I am also happy to see more and more people like his works, for ZHANG Jian's such feelings and personal development is actually part of a new culture in history, or an important outcome in the process of rebuilding contemporary art.

LI Guosheng

　　Sincerely speaking, I like ZHANG Jian as a painter.

　　Just for this, I became his spreader and agent of ZHANG Jian.

　　I like his works, mainly out of a kind of touching. As our people of this generation, we have abundant life experiences, which means that we have more special and rich life feelings.. Things in ZHANG Jian's paintings including themes and styles of works can inspire that feeling deep in our heart, even something temporarily forgot or covered.

　　Of course, ZHANG Jian's works also come out of his personal memories of childhood, of juvenile, of youthhood, of college times, and include his emotions, ideals, disappointment, loss, etc. It is a very complex mix of emotions.

　　However, the most surprising thing is that though he narrates a lot of things, but his way of art expression is quite peaceful and simple, also very distinctive, showing his art depth as well as personal art charm.

　　I appreciate ZHANG Jian's art and also find that the more intellectual people are, the more they will like ZHANG Jian's art, for it is easier for them to understand or discover that touching behind ZHANG Jian's art.
