“我的星星为什幺是五角的为什幺会在我的生命中出现，其实我不知道。”如果说艺术是直属心灵的话，有时不知道比知道来得有意义。

　　“星星”可以说是世界性的共通表达，很多画家都在作品上呈现过它们，无可否认，星星在人们的心里总是有一种不能解说的神秘。

　　“画星星的时候，开始与结束都是必然的，只有过程中发放出来的光芒是吸引着我的。”我当时与李新辉聊他的20年创作之路，就有更强烈的感受

　　油然而生——过程中的历练往往比结局来得精彩。

　　李新辉的艺术过程，主要是从1991年开始，其间“方”、“光”及“麻”系列是起步，在有形中寻找着一种无形的状态；接着是“门”、“记忆”与“城

　　市”，这个时期是“堆绣”一种过去与未来的实境，当有形遇上实境，李新辉变得无助与纠结……这在“门”系列中不难找到线索。

　　1996年是李新辉在艺术上的一个重要时期，他仿如手中摘下了一颗星，但这颗星仍然带着“不知所措”的心情：“灰色系列”与“夜幕降临”浓烈带

　　着“不安”的感觉；时间下来，作品自己为李新辉说话。

　　2000年李新辉终于走出了一条“新.星.路”，情感豁然开朗但不失思考的味儿。在路上的人，总会发现不同的风景，在仰望星空的时候，星也总在

　　幻变，企图或意图留在人的心里。让看似一条的线上引发光芒。

　　“星星”在希腊的神话中有这样一个传说：

　　宙斯变成一支大老鹰，在特洛伊城王子不注意的时候，一把抓住他回到神界。后来因为不忍见王子日渐消瘦，就让他回去特洛伊城看望国王，然后

　　再回到神界替宙斯做倒酒的工作……特洛伊王子从此在天上变成水瓶星像，负责给宙斯倒酒。

　　酒从天上洒下成了星星。这无限的想像性，就是艺术的启蒙……

　　A flashing thread navigating the form --XIN STAR

　　"I really ignore the reason why I started to draw five-pointed stars and why actually they came into my life, because I don't know indeed." Li

　　XinHui said. If art is subordinated to the heart, sometimes I wonder no reason is better than a reason.

　　"Stars" are said to be an universally recognized symbol: they can be found in many artists' works and, undeniably, in everyone's heart, where

　　they have always been a mystery that cannot be explained.

　　"When painting the stars, the starting and the ending point are inevitable, but only the "beamline" of the star that is released during the

　　creating process fascinates me". When I was talking with Li XinHui about his 20 years' artistic career, I was affected by the spontaneously

　　arise of many different intense feelings, and I realized that the practice and the experience gained during the journey are often more valuable

　　than the mere final result.

　　Li XinHui artistic course mainly started in 1991 with the beginning of the series "Square", "Light" and "Hemp", seeking for the invisible in

　　the tangible state. Followed by "Gate", "Memory" and "City" series, a period of "raise" between past and future, when tangible encounters

　　reality and Li XinHui becomes helpless and tangled. It's not hard to find traces, especially in the "Gate" series

　　The year 1996 is an important year in the artistic career of Li XinHui. As if his hand already held a star inside, but this star still carried a "restless"

　　mood: "Grey series" and "Sunset series" carry an intense feeling of "unstable and confusion"; later Li XinHui's works spoke for himself.

　　From the year 2000 Li XinHui finally took the long star-studded road, and the emotions suddenly became extensive but also provided space

　　for thinkings. The man on the road will always discover different landscapes, and when looking up at the starry sky will find that also the stars

　　are always magically changing, attempting or intending to penetrate everyone's heart, evoking a flashing thread of light.

　　In Greek mythology there's a legend about "Stars":

　　Zeus turned himself into a big eagle and grabbed the Prince of Troy off to Mount Olympus. Later, because he cannot bear to see the Prince

　　gradually become emaciated, let him go back to Troy to see the King once and then returned to Mount Olympus to become a cupbearer

　　and served Zeus to pour the wine.

　　The sprinkle of the wine from the sky then formed the stars. This infinite imaginations, is the art of enlightenment.
