康蕾最近画批蓝色的画，题材与前一段相同：花间的人物和京戏。不仅是色彩由多色变为统一，质感也变得透明、温润，造型更流畅自然了。这都因为自信，心中有数，取之于对象，又不为对象所感，画得主动而肯定。

　　她是画写实的。写实，学习自然，自然的万千给我们认识，但这认识不只是一时一事的。人的认识由积累而成，是总体的理解，所以又要“得心源”，这样，人与自然就有了互动。康蕾把一组蓝色的京剧名之为“距离”，理解就加入其中了，是蓝色的理解，其它的蓝也如是。

　　蓝色，本是颜料中的一种，不过是物质。用于绘画，作用于视觉，就勾起了过往的经验，是天空，是大海，是夜，幽远、宁静、深沉。与花间的人物复合，就产生了系列作品“花间词”，与京剧人物复合，就产生了系列“距离”。

　　总之，它们是消逝的，无论花间的青春还是老旧的遗产；它们是意境的，无论是词的意，还是剧的意。

The Blue

　　The recent works of Kang Lei are in bluish tones. The theme remains the same:portraits among the blossoms and the Peking Opera. In reducing various colors into monochromatic blue, she also creates a texture more transparent and embellished, and plastically, the forms are smooth and spontaneous. All that proves her confidence in the representation. Inspired by what she sees, she is not limited by the phenomenal world, and shows creativity and certitude in her paintings.

　　Her works are realistic, which means to learn from the reality and the Nature. The endless varieties of Nature cannot be learnt overnight. It is rather an accumulative process leading to an overall knowledge. Then we have to "explore the inner source of creation" and exchange with Nature. Kang names a series on the theme of Peking Opera in bluish tones Distance, which implies the presence of a subject whose comprehension of the reality is declared in the blue color. It is the same for all her bluish tones: the blue as comprehension.

　　As a painting color, blue is material. But once applied on the canvas and acting upon the visual perception, it turns into the sky, the ocean, the night: distant, tranquil and profound, it recalls our past experiences. When blue is combined with the portraits in the flowers, comes into being the Poetry among the blossoms, and with the figures of Peking Opera, the series of Distance.

　　In a word, the bluish tones are about the vanishing, as the youth among the blossoms or the archaic heritage, and they are also about the mental imagery, which could be, as the theme of her paintings shows, poetic or musical.
