水,是人类文明的摇篮;光,是人类希望的象征。对于旅日二十多年的我,水和光却成为了连接我与江南水乡和西方水城情感的依托。江南水乡,留有我童年美好的记忆;西方水城,留有我追逐阳光的印迹。我用手中的画笔,记录下了我对水乡和阳光的情怀。
我对水乡的鍾爱,要追溯到童年时代。那时我住在常熟的外婆家,早晨的空气、阳光与外婆生煤炉时缓缓上升的青烟与飘飘然然的薄雾融和在一起的景色,时隐时现,变化莫测,充满了非常美妙的浪漫色彩;河里时而有群鸭缓缓地游来游去,时而有小船划桨悠悠而过,留下了一道道欢快舞动、流畅优美的水纹;河边时而有人洗衣,水纹由小到大向外展开,倒影波动,令人生情。一幅幅动人的画面至今记忆犹新。
平时,我很喜欢观察光和水面的变化。清晨,红红的太阳从东方升起,然后放射出光芒,映到河岸,水面薄雾浮起。光的变化也非常梦幻,就连逆光亦很有内涵,柔和而且变化微妙,充满着诗情画意。在我的笔下,它们都融入了我对故乡的深深情怀,包括清晨风平浪静的水面、阳光普照的水面、微风轻拂的水面、小船划桨而过的水面、鸭子游来游去的水面、有薄雾的水面、有树的倒影的水面、有鱼吐出圈纹的水面、打水后波纹的水面、逆光的水面等等。
1996年,我以巴黎为中心旅欧一年多,其间,多次去了威尼斯,也多次去了阿姆斯特丹、布鲁日等地。巴黎的塞纳河有三十多座精美的桥梁,河岸两边华美的建筑倒影入水,景色十分美丽壮观,温馨和浪漫,很入画。威尼斯真是一座美丽的水上城市,景色非常迷人。我整日不停地取材于水城的大街小巷,很乐意迷失在这座独特的水城之中。阿姆斯特丹是用美丽的运河交织出水都风光,河道上的船屋点缀形成独到的韵味。布鲁日被誉为比利时的威尼斯,城内河流如网,小桥随处可见,一栋栋中世纪的建筑映在水中非常优美,古朴典雅。由于空气清新,阳光纯净,欧洲的风景在水与光的作用下,鲜丽明快,也给我带来了艺术创作的激情。
多年来我对江南水乡和西方水城进行了长时间的,认认真真的仔细观察,感受到了不同的地域环境,不同的文化思想与不同的建筑风格;但是,江南水乡的朴素、秀美,欧洲水都的经典、华丽,都与水、与光的造化分不开的。我的艺术创作题材也始终与水,与光相伴。
我画江南水乡的源泉来自于童年时代的水乡生活,是记忆、现实以及理解的融和;所以,很多江南水乡作品里的景色在现实生活中已很难找到,但都饱含着自己对故乡的眷恋与深情。我画的西方水都,也着重其水与光的韵味,用自己的绘画语言来描述的。在属于自己的艺术天地里,注重把江南水乡和西方水城的诗情画意体现出来,题为《日和》,《波光》和《朝辉》等 60 幅作品即将於金秋时节在上海美术馆展出,希望让观赏者在水与光所创造的景色中,体味到宁静和安祥的气氛。当观赏者能感到舒心、安逸、温馨之时,作为画家的我也会感到很幸福。
Water·Light·Emotion

Water is the cradle of human civilization while light is a symbol of human hope. For me, a Chinese artist but a guest in Japan for over twenty years, water and light bind my emotions with China's River District and European watertowns. The China's River District links wonderful memories of my childhood; the European watertowns leave my footsteps in the sun. With the paintbrush, I have recorded my emotions on water and light.
My love for China's water district could be traced to childhood. I lived with my grandmother in Changshu, a city in southeast of Jiangsu Province. Every morning when grandmother lighted a fire in coal stove, smokes slowly rising, air and sunlight then melted with a thin fog, floating here and there, changing or hiding. A flock of ducks swam leisurely in the river, and sometimes a boat passed slowly which left round circle ripples behind. When people washed clothes on the river side, water waved from small ripples to large and then the reflection also waved. All these pictures have been preserved clearly in my heart.
I like to observe the changes in light and water. For example, when the red sun rises in the east, sunlight is hanging over the water and fog is floating. At the moment light changes charmingly, even the backlight has rich flavor, soft and changing subtly. I devoted my feelings of hometown to each screen of changing water and light, including the early morning calm water, sunny surface, with the breeze of water, boat paddle, ducks swimming in the water, misty water, with trees projection surface, a ring pattern of the fish spit out the water, ripples on the water, and backlit water and so on.
In 1996, I travelled in Europe by the route around the center of Paris. I went to Venice, Amsterdam, Bruges and other places many times. There are more than 30 bridges over Seine in Paris. The splendid building on both sides mirrors into the water. The scenery is very beautiful, warm and romantic. As a water city, Venice is extremely charming. I was happy to get lost in her streets by wandering and hunting for inspiration. Amsterdam emits a unique taste with wonderful canal water, decorated houseboat on the river. The network bridge can be seen everywhere in Bruges, known as "the Venice of Belgium", and much of medieval building reflected in the water, simple and elegant. As the fresh air, pure sunshine, my creative passion burst out during the trip, especially stimulated by the European brighter and lively water and light.
Over the years I have had a long, earnest and close observation on the China riverside district and west watertowns. I could feel the different geographical environments, different cultures and architectural style, however, it is the magical workmanship of water and light that shapes the simple beauty of riverside district and the classic splendid of watertowns. My artistic inspiration therefore is always accompanied with water and light.
Childhood experience from the riverside district is the source of my creativities. Types of scenery in my works are hard to find in real life because they are combined with memories, realities and imaginations, which are all filled my affection and attachment to hometown. I also persist in using my own painting language to describe western watertown, also focusing on its water and light flavor. In my own art world, I want to convey poetic feelings that I have discovered in both two places. These 60 works entitled "watertown", "morning sunshine", "ship mooring"and so on are exhibiting at the Shanghai Art Museum in the fall season. I wish viewers could become immersed in the simplicity and poetry of these natural scenes created by water and light. When you feel a comfortable, ease and warm sense from these works, as a painter, I would be deeply happy.
