A type of material may establish a kind of mature state of one’s works after being used for a long time, so one of the solutions to continue using it while avoid repetition is to stop for a while, trying to find another way to a brand new field. On a day at the end of 2012, I occasionally took up a brush to paint on a piece of small paper excitedly, not knowing what to express. In the following 3 months, I even suspended all the previous works and created those small paper works. Every day after woke up, I would concentratively let the images grow upward like a growing tree from a heel of shoe or a finger. Seemingly, they were also focusing on their own world, even not willing to communicate with me. Looking at those images created one after another like the amber in ancient forest, I felt dizzy as if the time machine had embedded the nature of modern people into them? Will I secretly follow them to another time space where I will meet some others? Maybe will or will not is all the meaning of the Amber Series to me?
