今格艺术中心开幕展 "绘画的故事"

　　过度的文本解读和社会学阐述几乎伴随中国当代绘画近四十年的发展。艺术在对应特殊复杂的社会、政治环境所产生的“某种”聚焦，必然存在着一定的合理性和必然性。而在今天，当我们面对绘画这一古老艺术话题再度审视时，不得不重新思考关于艺术和社会、艺术与艺术家、艺术与艺术史之间的关系、边界和维度。

　　本次展览将呈现八位艺术家近期创作的二十余件绘画作品。不难看出，多元、自由的各自表述构建了当下中国新一代艺术家创作的现状，他们理性并敏感的观察和感知这个世界，真诚并释放人性深处的关于悲悯和爱……这种差异化的个体性，不仅在今天也将会是未来中国当代艺术的普遍性，即艺术家构建和贯穿整个艺术史的过程。就绘画而言，作品也绝不是简单的再现历史和生活的景观抑或对现实的追究和批判，而是建立在人类文明发展基础上，不断感悟和再创造，这才是艺术(艺术作品)本身的价值和真正意义。

　　In thepast four decades, the development of Chinese contemporary painting has beenentangled with a kind of excessive literary interpretation and sociologicalelaboration. When dealing with the certain complexity of social and politicalenvironments, some “specific” focus in art is reasonable and inevitable. Whenwe re-examine painting and the ancient subject of art, we have to re-think therelationships, boundaries and dimensions of art and society, art and artists,art and its history.

　　This exhibition presents more than twentypaintings, which were recently created by eight artists. It can be seen thatdiverse, free individual expression is what crystallises the status of the newgeneration of Chinese artists, who observe and perceive the world with senseand sensibility, who set free the deeply embedded sympathy and love withsincerity…this kind of new individuality is and will be the new universality ofChinese contemporary art, a process constructed by artists, throughout thehistory of art. These paintings are not simple representations of landscapes,of history, or of daily life, nor are they investigations or criticisms.Instead, they find their foundation on humanity’s process of re-interpretingand re-inventing itself constantly, becoming the real value and meaning of thework.

　　今格艺术中心是北京一座地标性建筑，总面积3500平米。位于东二环工人体育馆西门坐拥三里屯工体商圈，展厅面积2000平米，举办学术性展览，通过艺术项目推广、交流、收藏等多种形式探索当代艺术的多元化趋势，并联合国内外各大艺术机构、美术馆、策展人等展开紧密的合作交流，共同推动国内外当代艺术的发展。中心公共教育空间面积1000平米，为社会公众和艺术界在空间中生长出多元的学术观点和艺术精神的文化服务平台。

　　Ginkgo Art Centeris a landmark building in Beijing, encompassing an area of 3,500 square meters.Located at the west gate of the Workers Gymnasium which nearby the East SecondRing Road, Ginkgo Art Center is nestled in Beijing’s prosperous commercialSanlitun - Gongti area. The exhibition space is 2,000 square meters, whereacademic exhibitions are hosted, and it explores the diverse trends ofcontemporary art through promoting, exchanging and collecting art projects. It alsocollaborates and communicates with leading domestic and international artinstitutions, art museums and curators, promoting the development ofcontemporary art. The public education area at Ginkgo Art Center is 1,000square meters, serving as a cultural platform for the general public and artprofessionals, encouraging the growth of diverse academic viewpoints andartistic spirit.
