金炳昊的雕塑既不再现任何人的躯体,亦不展示对材料和形式来源的实验性探索,而是对于个体与个体、个体与群体间的彼此联系,相互作用进行探讨。本次展出的作品“水平花园 Horizonal Garden”是一件由黄铜件拼接而成的悬吊雕塑。正面观看时看到的是水滴形状错落排列的矩阵,而侧面则像一朵无限延伸和绽放的流动的花朵。艺术家的雕塑作品并非焊接而成,而是由不同零件根据设计组装于一体。经过精密仪器加工的金属雕塑绚丽闪烁,令人眩惑。
金炳昊一名非常重视自己的概念实现与落地的艺术家,为确保雕塑生产的质量,他会与工厂的结构工程师及设计师就自己的概念设计方案进行讨论,进而将自己的艺术理念更完美地付之以实,这样的“合作”也是金炳昊作品的一大特征。在如今强调多元化和感官融合性的艺术世界,这种将视觉中心主义作为核心的创作技巧是大胆而创新的。艺术家通过这种的视觉技术方法,持续着对技术和工程快速发展精神与全新雕塑语言的追求。
Kim Byoungho's sculpture doesn’t represent any human body nor show any experimental exploration of the material or form of the origin, but keens to explore the interaction and relationship between individuals, as well as the individual and the community. This exhibited work, Horizonal Garden, is a pendant-fitting sculpture made by brass. Seeing from the front side, the sculpture is a gold matrix jointed by various drop shapes. However, it looks like an infinite extending blooming flower from the side view. The sculptures of Kim Byoungho are not welded together, but assembled by different parts according to the design drawings. The metal sculptures contributing an abundant of reflections shine on each other's part, impressing the passers-by with a feeling of enchantment.
Such kind of "cooperation" also shows the essence of Kim Byoungho’s works. The sculptures of Kim Byoungho are not welded together, but assembled by different parts according to the blueprint. The artist strictly follows what he describes as “the relevance of systematic and extremely exquisite planning”, and constructs with geometric modules in a peaceful order and a monumental majesty that attracts the attention of the passers-by. In today’s art world, which emphasizes pluralism and sensory integration, this creative technique of setting ocularcentrism as the core of his artworks is courageous and innovative. The artist continues his search for a new sculptural language following the spirit of the fast-pace development of technology and engineering through his new visual technological approach.

金炳昊,1974年生于韩国,2000年于韩国弘益大学美术学院获得版画专业学士学位,2004年于韩国中央大学获得艺术工学专业硕士学位。现工作、生活于首尔。
金炳昊“艺术家的角色”探索充满兴趣,从丢勒到杜尚再到极简主义,艺术家们始终在探寻这一问题。他强调作品的“反射性”,热衷于探讨个体与个体、个体与群体间的彼此联系,相互作用,坚持艺术需要与观众发生互动才得以实现其自身价值,因此在决定作品部件形状及材质时,反射效果是艺术家优先考虑的首要条件。
金炳昊热衷并积极参与诸多公共艺术项目,他的作品近期在静安雕塑公园(中国上海),世宗文化会馆(韩国首尔),Amorepacific Museum of Art(韩国首尔),OCAT南京栖霞展区(中国南京), Galerie Melanie Rio(法国南特),松广寺(韩国顺天), Museum SAN(韩国原州), Daelim Acrosquare(韩国首尔),新世界百货(韩国釜山),君悦酒店(韩国仁川),尊邸会所(韩国首尔)等地均有亮相。金炳昊的作品被韩国国家当代艺术博物馆、德国法兰克福城市文化部、韩国松岛浦项工程建设公司、韩国济州现代美术馆、韩国首尔国立大学博物馆、韩国首尔现代汽车公司、韩国龙仁爱茉莉太平洋美术馆、韩国阿拉里奥美术馆等国际重要艺术机构收藏。
Born in Korea in 1974, Byoungho Kim obtained his Bachelor Degree in Printmaking from the School of Fine Arts, Hong-Ik University, Seoul, Korea in 2000. In 2004, he obtained his Master Degree in Technology Art from Chung-Ang University, Seoul, Korea.
Kim Byoungho is interested in exploring the “role of an artist”, a question that has been asked since Durer to Duchamp to the Minimalists. He emphasizes the “reflection” of the work, and is keen to explore the interaction and relationship between individuals, as well as the individual and the community. He insists that the art needs to interact with the audience to realize its own value, so the reflection effect is the first priority for him when he makes his decisions with the shape and material he uses.
Kim Byoungho shows much interest and participated in lots of public art projects, including Shanghai Sculpture Parks (Shanghai, China),Sejong Center (Seoul, Korea),Amorepacific Museum of Art (Seoul, Korea),OCAT (Nanjing, China),Galerie Melanie Rio (Nantes, France),Songgwangsa temple (Suncheon, Korea), Museum SAN (Wonju, Korea),Daelim Acrosquare (Seoul, Korea),Shinsegae Department Store (Busan, Korea),Grand Hyatt Hotel (Incheon, Korea),Johnnie Walker House Seoul (Seoul, Korea) and others. Also his works have been collected by major collections such as National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea; Kulturamt der Stadt Frankfurt am Main, Germany; POSCO E&C, Songdo, Korea; Jeju Museum of Contemporary Art, Jeju, Korea; Museum of Art Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea; Hyundai Motor Company, Seoul, Korea; Amore Pacific Museum of Art, Yongin, Korea and ARARIO Collection, Korea.
