当画家献身艺术使命而并非去提供某种观看世界的方法时，这个世界已经被不成体统地表现得丝毫不差，这是一项更为伟大的事业，是一种难得的天赋，也是一份崇高的使命。

　　画家可以拥有出色的学历，可以出自卓越的“流派”，也可以勤奋而忘我地工作，但是，只有神奇的天赋才能指引他的心灵、理智和手臂在空白的画布上驰骋，使之感受和创造作为一分子在崇高、和谐的世界中成其自我。

　　绘画大师的任务不是记录自然现象本身，而是为画的平面找到简洁的、“格言式的”，也可以是“象征性的”解决方案，去创造自己的、只属于自己的某种现象的“定理”。归根结底，我们表现的不是事物或现象本身，而是对这些事物或现象的认识。绘画大师的职业水平越高，他的想象力越奔放大胆，他创造宇宙“模式”的愿望就越强烈。为此，去画一个婴儿的头部就足够了;如果画家能为自己提出“最高使命”，大总能寓于小之中。

　　我们的生活，我们的思维和感受，不是别的什么东西，而是“永恒的片断”，它们以不可思议的方式与时间、空间、虚无缥缈等联系在一起。绘画和艺术生命正是以上所述的显著例证。

　　画家有三个生命，首先......清晨、露珠、马匹、家人、学生、朋友和敌人......，也就是每天他周围的一切——这太美妙了!

　　第二个生命就是他艺术创作，就是他的心灵和智能被绷紧到极限的地方。在这里，在色彩的斑点、线条、色调、中间色、不可捉摸的形象的混沌中诞生了“光”。这就是奇妙无比的“光”!

　　最后，是第三个生命——永恒，这就是委拉斯开兹和莫扎特、伦勃朗和柴可夫斯基、米开朗基罗和舍甫琴科、弗鲁贝尔和巴赫等我们这个星球上许许多多伟大的精英们作为“永恒的片断”表现自己“光”的地方。

　　我只祈求上帝一件事：让爱能波及到所有这个三个生命!

　　Devote oneself to the service of art, be an artist. It is not a way of observing the world and reflect this world with literal accuracy. This is something more, it is a rare gift, it is a superior predestination.

　　An artist can have an e×cellent education, a wonderful “school”, to work a lot and with self-forgetful inspiration, but only this God-given gift that leads his soul, mind and hand over a blank canvas. It lets him be confined, feel and create lofty harmony of the world a fraction of which he is.

　　The master’s goal is not to focus on the natural phenomena as it is but to find laconic, aphoristic symbolic solution of the picture plain, create his (and only his!) “a×iom” of this or that phenomenon. In the long run we do not reflect things or phenomena but our conception of them. The higher master’s professional level is, his unbridled fantasy and audacity, the more he obtains a desire to create a “model” of the world, a “model” of universe.

　　Sometimes it is even enough to paint just a baby’s head. The great is always in minor under the condition that the artist defines an “ultimate priority”.

　　Our life, our thoughts and feelings is nothing else but the “fragments of eternity” that are in an inconceivable way connected with time, space, oblivion… Painting and life in art is an obvious case.

　　An artist has three lives… Morning, dew, horses, family, students, friends and enemies-all that surrounds him in his everyday life. And that is wonderful!

　　The second life is his creative work where his soul and mind are tensed utmost. Where from a chaos of color spills, lines, tones and half-tints,imperceptible images there comes “Light” and that is deific “Light”!

　　And at last the third life. That if eternity, where as the “fragments of eternity”, reflect their “Light” Velazquez and Mozart, Rembrandt and Tchaikovsky, Michelangelo and Shevchenko, Vrubel and Bach… and a lot of great minds of the planet Earth.

　　I pray for one! Let me have that much love for all three lives!
