2023年下半年，当时北京大学艺术学院彭锋院长推荐了北大工学院段慧玲院长与几位副院长在我的工作室提到上述论坛一事，大家都有兴趣重燃发起与筹组论坛意愿。

犹忆二十世纪九十年代，清华大学有二位在科学界与艺术界著名教授:五十年代荣获诺贝尔物理学奖的李政道教授(与杨振宁合作)与著名艺术家吴冠中教授在清华大学发起并举行了首届《艺术与科学》论坛，随后便结束了!

但由这件"夭折"论坛事作勾泛起我们"复活"此论坛的想法!

因为北大不但是中国近丶现代中国人文的圣殿，更是近百年以来人文与美学摇篮!

当年由蔡元培校长首提美育与美学课题得到学术界与艺术界热烈反应并参与!

此美育风气延伸近百年不衰!加上科学的领域的创新与突破!故在北京大学重新点燃起《艺术与科学》国际论坛事项，天地人和，历史轮回，正合时宜!

2024年3月5日，北大工学院院长段慧玲院士、法学院郭院长与北大新农村发展研究院黄院长都一致表示是一件在当今国际形势与政经胶着时刻，值得落实并推行这项有益全球人类重回人文文明轨道驱动力!

期待今年内重回北大时再召集相关院校及专家学者们，共商此事。

Proposal and discussion for the establishment and advocacy of the “International Forum on Art and Science”.

In the latter half of 2023, Peng Feng, Dean of the School of Arts at Peking University at the time, recommended Duan Huiling, Dean of the School of Engineering at Peking University, along with several vice deans, to discuss the above-mentioned forum in my studio. Everyone expressed interest in reigniting the initiative to organize the forum.

In the 1990s, there were two renowned professors at Tsinghua University in the fields of science and art: Professor Li Zhengdao, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in the 1950s (in collaboration with Yang Zhenning), and the famous artist Professor Wu Guanzhong. They initiated and held the first "Art and Science" forum at Tsinghua University, which unfortunately came to an end.

However, the halt of this forum sparked the idea of reviving it!

Because Peking University is not only the sanctuary of modern Chinese humanities but also the cradle of humanities and aesthetics for nearly a century!

Back then, President Cai Yuanpei first proposed the topic of aesthetic education and aesthetics, which received enthusiastic responses and participation from the academic and artistic communities!

This cultural and aesthetic atmosphere has persisted for nearly a century! Coupled with innovations and breakthroughs in the field of science! Therefore, the matter of rekindling the "Art and Science" International Forum at Peking University is timely and fitting in the context of the harmony between heaven, earth, and humanity, and the cyclical nature of history!

On March 5, 2024, Duan Huiling, Dean of the School of Engineering at Peking University, Dean Guo of the Law School, and Dean Huang of the Peking University Institute of New Rural Development Studies unanimously expressed that in the current international situation and the critical juncture of geopolitics and economics, it is worthwhile to implement and promote this initiative, which is beneficial for driving global humanity back onto the track of human civilization!

We look forward to reconvening relevant schools and experts within Peking University later this year to further discuss this matter.
