观黎明先生的画，给我的第一印象是自然清新、雄奇博大，洋溢着生机勃勃的气息和高旷昂扬的品格。画中荷草树花、苍鹰野鸭，生意灵动，与用笔用墨用色的徐疾、浓淡、刚柔、巧拙、冷暖、勾斫相和相谐，点和线、墨和色、皴和染的虚实节奏是在笔的起落之间流露出来，骨力峻拔，造型生动，笔饱墨足，神遇迹化，已达到无内外之别的境地，透出的是画家的笔墨功底和修养。他的画是传统的，精神是时代的，在突破宋院体画的传统模式中又吸收西画的长处，色墨并重，墨彩流溢，散发着传统精神与现代意识相结合的审美气度。成功的艺术家总是在超越法度中树立新的规律，在新的突破和创造中产生新的妙理。黎明的画作是与时代共鸣响的，他的艺术之树常青。

　　My first impression on Mr. Lai’s paintings was natural, refreshing, magnificent and profound, with vitality and nobility. Plants and animals in his paintings are as vivid as life, existing in harmony with his usage of ink and colour. The rhythm created by dots,lines, ink and colour flows while he moves his paint brush. The lifelike depiction and perfect use of ink reveal the painter’s skills and disposition. His paintings are traditional and his spirit is modern, which enable him to break through the tradition of Song court paintings, while absorbing the strengths of Western painting, contributing to a perfect combination of traditional spirit and modern sense. Successful artists always exceed existing rules to establish new patterns, and create new ideas in breakthrough and innovation. Lai’s works are consistent with the times and thus his “tree of art” isevergreen.
