黎明的学养深厚，技艺全面，山水、花鸟、入物，工笔、写意、兼工带写，乃至泼墨、泼彩，均有不凡表现。作品中花鸟虫鱼生活在山林河流溪涧之间，增添了野情野趣和生命力。画家尤善画孔雀，南方特有禽鸟在他的笔下金裳翠羽，熠熠生辉，精妙之极。画家喜画松鹰，造型准确生动，笔墨和色彩浑然一体，将岭南画派花鸟画提升至一个新的层面。他的山水也饱含深厚的情感，从而创造出有着自然美更具有人格美的景色。黎明的水墨写意山水画以情韵取胜，透过细致绵长的情韵，展现出豁达的气势。画家善于用水、用墨和用色，传承岭南画派撞水和撞粉的画法加以巧妙变化，画面更多突出水、墨、色的效果。流动的水分、大块的泼墨和泼彩掌握得当，有着极大的难度，黎明举重若轻，从容应对，水、墨、色的干、湿、浓、淡，生发出无穷妙趣。这种突出水、墨、色效果的画作与注重干笔和积墨的写意山水画一样，山川浑厚，草木华滋，且更有南国风光的特色，表现出画家多年修炼获得炉火纯青的艺术功力。

　　Lai Ming is a man of culture and an all-rounded painter who masters various kinds of painting such as landscape, flowers and birds, portrait, brushwork, etc. He is skilled in the expression of feelings in his works, ink and colour splashing. In his paintings, flowers, birds, insects and fish which live in forest, river and stream are added with feelings, fun and vitality. The painter is particularly good at peacock painting. The special bird from the South becomes glamourous in Lai’s portrayal. The painter also likes painting pines and eagles, whose images are accurate and vivid. The perfect combination of ink and colour has promoted Lingnan painting of flowers and birds to a new level.

　　Lai’s landscape paintings are filled with deep and strong feelings, which create landscape of natural and personalized beauty. Lai’s ink landscape paintings are well-known for its expression of feelings and mood. These works release generous momentum through a delicate and lingering mood. The painter makes good use of water, ink and colour, inherits the special techniques of the Lingnan School and improves them for more outstanding artistic effects. It is extremely difficult to grasp the appropriate use of flowing water, splashing of ink and colour, but Lai easily masters the technique, and creates excellent and interesting paintings with it. Such paintings that emphasise the effects of water, ink and colour are no different from general freehand paintings of landscape, but are even richer in the characteristics of southern scenery, showing the highly perfect art skills of the painter.
