展览前言

 

黄来铎先生是中国绘画界颇具影响力的色彩大家,笔耕不辍地在色彩领域进行了多年探索。在各种主义、派别粉墨登场的今天,他不为潮流所动,不受各种藩篱的束缚,在绘画的视觉形式层面深入思考,不断精进。其早年就曾在多种绘画渊源中受到浸润,先后求学于昆明师范、鲁迅美院,又广泛涉猎。几十年的艺术历程,可以清晰看到黄来铎先生的艺术诉求:广泛继承艺术史传统却并不被其约束,而是融会贯通,熔于一炉。

色彩是黄来铎颇为擅长的,其非凡的色彩表达能力令人钦佩。青年时代对印象派、苏派绘画有过深入的研究,这从画作中丰富的色彩关系,准确洒脱的物象结构及铿锵有力的形体块面可以清晰看到。他着迷于灰色调子却能体现出异常丰富的冷暖倾向,有层次而不浊、不脏。本次展览中,《白露》一画对厚积雨云的再现尤能体现此种功力,此外他用密集的笔触来再现芦苇荡,以此与大面积的云层形成强烈的疏密对比关系。近些年来,其色相使用得愈发浓烈。在花卉、江南水乡系列作品中,他甚至敢于让土黄、深红等高暖色相与群青、普蓝、湛蓝等高冷色相进行并置使用。当然,艺术家老辣的画面驾驭能力及纯熟的色彩把控能力可以非常轻松地“消弭”它们之间的冲突性。多年来的锤炼,大概已使他无需过多思考而“庖丁解牛”般地依靠身体感觉来决定色彩的使用。黄先生善画丁香,在《初妆》等作品中,他吸收印象派的部分技法,将多种色相的颜料不经完全调和而落笔生辉,以此再现出自然界中色彩的万般变化。丁香清丽,却并不使用任何一笔纯色,依靠的是不同冷暖倾向的灰色在对比关系中来呈现其“丽而不俗”的气质。它们因丽色而独拔,却在丰润中而显现出含蓄。这些画作,似乎是交响乐中的华彩乐章,听觉上已入高潮,但弦乐与管乐,高音与低音,重音与轻音,急促音与舒缓音之间协调合作,相互衬托,不失统一。

众所周知,块面、堆积(肌理)与线条是画作中塑形的重要手段。“块面”自不必说,作品中所呈现出来的凝练性和力量感让人印象深刻。黄来铎先生也善用刮刀来强化颜料在画布表面的堆积感,如今摆刀愈发随性,画面愈发厚重。“堆积”又可以理解为非平面化的肌理感,使颜料以“物性”的方式在三维空间中彰显自身魅力。我也注意到,在近期作品中,线在塑造物象、强调形式感中的作用得到明显加强,以抑扬顿挫的方式轻重缓急地呈现出节奏美。但随着艺术家本人对“逸趣”的愈发追求,物象在画作中又被部分地消解。观者仍然可通过视觉元素来辨识物象,但它们之间的边界变得愈发模糊。跳动的笔触,恣意的涂抹,干脆的(刮刀)摆痕具备了自主的审美价值,“拙规矩于方圆”而超越了物象之“役”。实与虚,有形与无形,相互依存,得之自然。

 

“象则非无,罔则非有”,这正是庄子美学中所谓“象罔”之境。

Mr. Huang Laiduo is an influential master of color in Chinese art circles. He has been exploring the field of color for many years. Today, as various types of art intermingle, he is not affected by popular trends and not bound by various barriers. He is deeply thinking and constantly improving in the visual form of painting. In his early years, he was influenced by a multitude of various types of art. He studied in Kunming Normal School and Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. After decades of pursuing art, Mr. Huang’s artistic appeal can be clearly seen.  He employees a strong sense of tradition in his art while never being restrained by it.

Mr.Huang is quite good at color, and his extraordinary expressive power is admirable. In his youth, he performed a thorough study of Impressionist and Soviet paintings, which can be clearly seen from his rich use of color, accurate image structure, and powerful shape of figure in his paintings. He is fascinated by gray toned colors with leanings toward both cold and warm, which is hierarchical but not muddled. In this exhibition, the painting “White Dew” can express this skill especially by the reproduction of thick cumulonimbus clouds. In addition, he uses intensive brush strokes to reproduce reeds, in order to form a strong contrast with the large area of clouds. In recent years, the colors he uses have gotten more and more intense. In the series of flowers and Jiangnan Watertown, he even dared to let warm-toned colors such as turquoise and deep red be used side by side with cold-toned colors such as green, blue and azure.

 Of course, the artist's skillful image control and sophisticated color control ability can easily "eliminate" the conflict between them. Over the years, he has relied on feel to determine the use of color without much thought. Mr. Huang is exceptional at painting lilacs. In his works such as “First Love”, he employs some techniques of Impressionism, and creates brilliant colors without completely blending them, thus recreating the various changes of colors in nature. He does not use any pure color to paint the beautiful lilacs, he relies on the warm and cold toned gray to present its "beautiful" temperament in the contrast relationship. They are drawn by beauty but are hidden in abundance. These paintings are like the cadenza of a symphony, the climax of strings and orchestration, the treble and bass, the accent and the soft, the rapid and the soothing tones coordinate and cooperate with each other, without losing uniformity.

As we all know, block, texture and lines are important means of creating shapes in painting. The sense of intensity and power presented in Mr. Huang’s work is impressive through block. Mr. Huang is also good at using palette knife to enhance the accumulation of pigment on canvas. Nowadays, he paints more and more casually, and the strokes become thicker and thicker. "Accumulation" can also be understood as a non-planar texture, so that the pigment can show its charm in three-dimensional space. I also noticed that in recent works, the role of the lines in shaping the image and emphasizing the sense of form has been significantly strengthened, in order to present a rhythmic beauty. But with the increasing pursuit of "fun", the image of the artist is partially dispelled in the painting. Viewers can still identify objects by visual elements, but the boundaries between them become more blurred. The bouncing brush strokes, the arbitrary smudges, and the simple swinging marks have their own aesthetic value. This brings reality and imagination together on the canvas in a natural way.

 

“Between reality and imagination” represents Zhuangzi's aesthetics in Chinese philosophy.

1960年鲁迅美术学院油画系毕业、此间受苏联现实主义、俄罗斯批判现实主义教育影响   

黄来铎的油画艺术植根传统又向现代发展,在当今多元艺术的纷杂中独树一帜,他的作品大气磅礴,色彩绚丽,具有高境界的审美情趣。他一向以纯正地道的油画语言和非凡的色彩造诣著称于世。步入老年,他的画面色彩更加明快灿烂,刀笔技法更加娴熟,对于光和色的追求更加大胆,强烈。他笔下的丁香花体态鲜活,气韵生动,颇受推崇,丁香王美誉。在当今美术界越发显现其独特的艺术魅力和越来越重要的学术价值。  

 

2017年受德国威克迈集团邀请委托,绘制巨幅油画《夜上海》

2015年受万达集团(万达商业地产股份有限公司)邀请委托,为万达集团在上海外滩建造的上海万达瑞华国际酒店(超七星级酒店)绘制巨幅油画《节日》(规格:345cm*335cm)、《夜色上海滩》(规格:180cm*120cm)、《澄怀观道》(规格:110cm*110cm

2010 受上海国际港务(集团)股份有限公司邀请委托创作大型油画《繁荣的上海港》(600x200cm)、《盛开的紫丁香》(300x200cm

The oil painting of Huang Laiduo has its root in tradition, while develops towards modern. And it plays a unique role in modern diversified arts mixture. His works are majestic and colorful, with a high aesthetic taste. He is well-known for an authentic and pure painting languages as well as extraordinary color accomplishments. In his late days, the color in his painting became brighter, and the techniques of applying became more skillful. At the same time, he became braver and more intensive on the pursuit of light and color. The lilacs under his brush are fresh and artistically vivid, and were widely accepted and won him the reputation of “Lilac King”. All of which gave the unique artistic charm and increasingly important academic values in today’s art world.     

Commissioned by German Winkelmann Group in 2017, the giant oil painting “Night Shanghai” is drawn.

Commissioned by Wanda Group (The Wanda Commercial Properties Co., Ltd), produced large oil painting “Festival” (345x335cm), “Night over the Bund” (180x120cm) “Pure Caring” (Bygone of Lilac 110x110cm) for Wanda Reign on the Bund (Post 7-star hotel)

Commissioned by Shanghai International Port (Group) in 2010, produced Large oil painting of “Prosperous Shanghai Port” (600x200cm) and “Blooming Lilac” (300x200cm)
