水天意象

  车尔尼雪夫斯基曾写到:水,由于它的灿烂透明,它的淡青色的光辉而令人迷恋,水把周围的一切如画的反映出来,把这一切委曲的摇曳着,我们看到的水是第一流的写生家。那么,我想董春凤是喜欢水的,因为她用自己的画笔坚守着一片片斑斓的水的状态。她以一种好奇的眼光把这不为人所留意的、微观的生命过程放大给我们,让我们惊奇于这生命的艳丽。当都市渐渐的磨平我们骄傲的风骨的时候,远方总有些神秘的东西吸引着我们,这种神秘就如同董春凤所描绘的水天意象一般令人着迷。

  有人说,每个人都有一颗漂泊的心。也有人说,每一个生命总有不安定的灵魂。艺术家尤为如此吧!怀揣着对艺术的憧憬,董春凤从未离弃过手中的画笔。这种执着的倔强使她只身来到北京,进入中央美院继续深造,这种倔强也一直支撑着她走到现在。与董春凤相识已有几年,她的生活确如同水一样透明与平静。画如其人,《扎龙女孩》系列中一片片缓缓流淌的水,也是艺术家的记忆。春天开花,夏天成长,秋天结果,冬天凋零。一年年这样过去,一段段回忆在心里,这些回忆加起来就是一个人的生活。这片水承载着艺术家太多的回忆,以至于可以照她影,载她心,带她走。

  作为一个女性艺术家,董春凤以她敏感的心感受到生命的脉络与永恒,领受大自然给予的启示,用独特的方式,将自然与生命联系与融合。她画面中的色绝不是自然的表象,而是艺术家内心的颜色,是其艺术历程的沉淀和思考。这个世界是色彩斑斓的。森林的绿,戈壁的黄,雪原的白,大海的蓝,这些不仅是颜色,更是生命。如果失去了任何的一种,自然的颜色也会蒙上一层冰冷的灰。艺术家用心灵捕捉这些色彩,她与自然一起鲜艳,一起灰暗,或许她手上的调色盘能够使这些颜色看上去更鲜艳。这是因为,从母性意识的角度看,女性在本质上更贴近自然,自然孕育生命物与女性作为生命本源是同义的。因此,女性艺术家所关注的自然意象,也会不经意地反映出自我在自然中的特殊意义。

  在消费文化如火如荼的当下,我们的视觉不断地被时尚文化、装置艺术以及新媒体艺术等占据,为何董春风一直坚守着她的那一片水面、那一抹夕阳,并乐此不疲地反复描绘,她在探寻什么?水天中先生曾经说过:当代中国画的一大进步,是画家开始改变过去那样用一种绘画手法处理一切素材、情调与气象的状态,画家开始关注绘画语言与自己所关注的社会、自然现象之间的平衡与协调。我想这就是董春凤所探寻的吧。她的画像一个寓言,尽管还是那么写实,但她的每一个情景都像是沉淀在内心深处的梦境,这些客体经过油画语言的转换,把其精神本质抽离出来。让我们体会到画家所表现的那一片水,是整个自然中水的缩影。她笔下的人物不是某个个体的再现,而是整个社会中一类人的生存状态。而作为一个艺术家,董春凤仍保持自然的本质,她的颜色、用笔、构图方式都是本色的、自然的。其作品的绘画性是和她的生命历程,对自然的感受融为一体的。

  在董春风的作品中,海与天总在我们的视线之极处交汇,并且占据画面的四分之三,但是总会有人的出现。这些平静的意象,在经历了自己的饱满与辉煌之后,显得何等的清寂、冷落,在层层的笔触中交织着艺术家诸多的情感纠葛与生存体验。这仿佛也是在演奏自然与生命的交响曲,人的灵魂在神秘而庄严的海天之间充满了敬畏之情,也对生命的未来怀着一种期待、憧憬抑或不安的情绪。这种美学意义和精神力量,使人意识到精神的慰藉和幸福的追求。把生存世界中的崇高价值表达的如此充盈、如此深沉,是每一个艺术家所追逐的目标。

  Nikolay Chernyshevsky once wrote: “Water, because of its brilliant transparency, the brilliance of its light cyan color tantalizing our eyes, beautiful flickering of water could be portrayed on art.”  If water we see is the first class sketching home, I believe Dong Chunfeng loves water. She can use her own brush to create the gorgeous state of water. She uses her curious eyes to allow this microscopic part of our life to be brought back in amazement, and allow us to appreciate it in awe. When the city gradually shapes our pride, far away we always have something mysterious that attracts us like Dong Chunfeng’s fascinatedly depicted images of the water and sky.
  Some people say everyone has a wandering heart. Others would say, in any lifetime, there is always an unstable soul. This can be especially characterized especially in artists. Dong Chunfeng’s wandering heart brought her alone to Beijing to study at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Her persistence has helped her grow as a rising artist. As she would say, her life is really like water, peaceful and translucent, like the written series of the “Zhalong Girl”, spring blooms, summer grows, fall comes to an end, and winter withers. As years pass by, memories are create, which becomes an important part of our lifespan. Water has been such a big part of her memory that it follows her shadow, carries her heart, and takes her away.
  As a female artist, Dong Chufeng uses her sensitive heart to feel the context of life and eternity, accepting the way nature molds life in a unique way. Although her usage of colors is not natural, she paints with the colors she feels in her inner soul created from years of sedimentation and thinking. The world is colorful, the green forest, the desert yellow, the snowy white, the deep blue sea. Not found only color, but also life. If life were lost on earth, nature’s color would take its course and perhaps turn into an ice-cold shade of grey. Whether the color is bright or dark, she’s able to capture these colors together more vividly from the palette in her hand. This is because women in essence, are closer to nature by the power of giving birth to life. Therefore, the concern of natural imagery would inadvertently reflect the self in a significant way.
  Currently, the consumer culture is driven by fashion, installation art, and modern art. So why has Dong Chunfeng remained true to the roots of art by continuously painting the water and sunsets? What is she searching for? Mr. Water and Sky once said: “A big step forward in contemporary Chinese painting, is when the painter began to change and takes into consideration the material given, the mood, and the weather. Painters began to pay attention to the language of the painting concerning the social and natural phenomena between balance and coordination.” Perhaps this is what Dong Chunfeng is searching for. Her paintings are like a parable, though realistic, it is most like a dream only created from deep within the heart and mind. The spiritual essence of water and sky atlas is depicted through the language of art. She allows us to appreciate water from the eyes of an artist, and relate to the characters that are portrayed in her paintings representing society as a whole. The way she paints is natural and pure, as her life blends into these paintings.
  In Dong Chunfeng’s paintings, the sea and sky contributes to three-quarters of the picture, but a character will always appear. Under the peaceful brilliant colors, lots of emotional entanglement and survival experiences has been intertwined through the layers of brush strokes. Furthermore, nature and life seems to play a symphony through the sky in a mysterious way, leaving us feeling in awe. This aesthetic significance and spiritual strength allows people to find the spirit of consolation, and the pursuit of happiness. The goal of every artist, is to portray the most valuable things in the world through art.
