　　画家的一生都在用画笔寻找自己的座标，以求发挥出最佳状态，使绘画语言达到精湛、极致，力求作品溶入时代和社会，成为当代艺术延伸和拓展的组成。

　　During a painter’s whole life, he continues to seek his own coordinates with paintbrush, get optimum state, make the painting language exquisite, beauideal, so that his works can dissolve in times and society, meanwhile extend and develop modern arts.

　　曹辅銮先生是一位卓有成就的美术教育家，同时也是一位成功的画家。知道曹辅銮是从他的水粉画静物《丁香花》开始的，熟练的水粉画技巧和扎实的色彩修养，把《丁香花》刻划得淋漓尽致。使每一个见这幅作品的人都留下深刻的印象。曹先生执教于金陵，我长期生活在西子湖畔，彼此接触不多。每次见面差不多都有是在杭州举办的全国水彩画大展研讨会上。在我印象中他是一位地道的水粉画家。多年后邂逅于上海的一个美术展览上。方知他已退休，寓居沪上。在他的住所里，展示他不少精彩的油画和水粉画，似乎油画更多一些。至此方知曹辅銮先生还是一位训练有素的油画家。和谐的色彩和流畅的用笔，把每件作品刻划得绚丽而富有情趣。令人赏心悦目。曹辅銮不仅精于水粉画，更精于油画。职业上的退休，使他有更多精力专致于美术创作。使一生积累的创作经验和艺术造诣，在晚年得到更充分的发挥，通过这本画册，可一睹他艺术生涯的精彩回放。

　　Mr.Cao Fuluan is not only a fruitful arts educator but also a successful painter. Mr.Cao is known for his gouache paintings lilac, which was most beautifully painted and deeply impressed every visitor with his masterly gouache painting skills and well-knit color accomplishment. Mr.Cao teaches in Nanjing, while I always live along West Lake bank, so we don’t have much contact. So everytime we encounter is almost on National Watercolor Exhibition Research Society holding in Hangzhou. He impressed me as a genuine gouache painter. Untill several years later, I came across him on an arts exhibition in Shanghai, learned he had retired and domiciled therein. When I came to his domicile, where there were plenty of oil and gouache paintings, to my surprise, the former seems more than the latter, then I realized that Mr.Cao was also a skilled oil painter. With harmonious color and smooth lines, his every work appears so florid, eyeable and full of spices. Mr.Cao is not only proficient in gouache paintings but also oil paintings. After retirement, he devoted more time and energy to arts invention, develop fully his invention experience and art achievements in his sunset of life. This album is a wonderful reply for Mr.Cao’s whole career of art.
