“在他乡·在远北——罗敏个人艺术项目展”于2024年4月3日晚上6:00在维多利亚艺术家协会美术馆哈蒙德厅隆重开幕。

此次展览由三个部分组成，第一部分作品来自之前创作的艺术家在异国游历中所遇见的人物肖像。第二部分作品源自艺术家此次出行驻留的第一站新西兰北岛。缘由艺术家对少年学艺时期一位老师的深度探访，进而了解到一种全新的生活方式和精神内涵。老师的丈夫伊恩和哥哥查理斯之前是从事化学工程和电力工程的专家，退休后从繁华的悉尼和伦敦改变为新西兰远北海湾地区的“牧民”生活方式。朝露与潮汐、放牧与海钓，无限的浪漫伴随着每日的劳作。艺术家关注到了老师的丈夫伊恩对地图各时期的变化和毛利文化的执着和热爱。而居住在奥克兰的哥哥查理斯，在弟弟伊恩的牧场建造了专门种植新西兰本土植物的苗圃工房，几乎每日电话嘱托和问询植物的生长情况，并定期过来亲自打理。而后把培育成活的大量本土植物幼苗不断地赠送给他人，以期在新西兰用本土的植物尽可能地代替外来的植物。据老师介绍，查理斯在伦敦工作期间也在公寓的阳台培育英国的苹果幼苗来赠送周边的朋友。这个故事激发了同样热爱植物的艺术家的极大兴趣。“在远北”系列作品基本都创作在艺术家途中无意间收集的一些远北地区的旅游地图上，以此表达对理性、执着而勤劳的俩兄弟的敬意。第三部分描绘的是艺术家辗转到墨尔本、住进了主办方在山上的一栋别墅的一些生活片段和细节。

整个艺术驻留计划历经一月。

Luo Min's Personal Art Project Exhibition In a Foreign Land, in the Far North was grandly opened at 6:00 p.m. on April 3 at the Artists Society of Victoria Gallery. The exhibition consists of three parts.The first part of the work was created from portraits of people the artist had met during his previous travels.The second part of the work is from the first stop of the artist's stay in the North Island of New Zealand. It originates from the artist's in-depth visit to a teacher when she was a young artist, and then she understands a new way of life and spiritual connotation. The teacher's husband, Ian, and his brother, Charles, were experts in chemical engineering and power engineering before they moved from prosperous Sydney and London to the far North Gulf region of New Zealand after retirement to live a "herdsman" life. Morning dew and tide, herding and sea fishing, infinite romance accompanied by daily work. The artist paid attention to the teacher's husband Ian's dedication and love for the changes of the map over time and the Maori culture. His older brother Charles, who lives in Auckland, built a nursery in his younger brother Ian's pasture dedicated to growing New Zealand native plants, phoned him almost every day to ask about the growth of the plants, and regularly came to take care of them himself. Then a large number of native plant seedlings were continuously given away to others, in order to replace foreign plants with native plants in New Zealand as much as possible. According to the teacher, during his work in London, Charles also cultivated British apple seedlings on the balcony of his apartment to give to friends around. The story sparked great interest among artists who also loved plants. "In the Far North" series of works are basically created on some tourist maps of the Far North that the artist inadvertently collected on the way, in order to express his respect for the rational, persistent and hard-working two brothers.The third part describes the experience of the artist who came to Melbourne, Australia after his trip to New Zealand and lived, collected style and created in the manor house on Mt Dandenong provided by the organizer.

Artist Luo Min is in Ian and Charles's plant house

罗敏出生于四川泸州，毕业于西南师范大学、解放军艺术学院，获硕士学位,现北京画院专职画家，国家一级美术师, 中国油画学会理事。Luo Min Born in Luzhou, Sichuan Province, graduated from Southwest Normal University and obtained her master degree in Art Academy of Liberation Amy. She is now a professional painter of Beijing Academy of Painting, awarded as national first-class artist,  also a member  of the China Oil Painting Society.
