关于卵

  《道德经》中把生命起源解释为一种无性的繁殖,称之为“玄牝”,“玄牝”状态即是我们生命的源头。我创造了一个“蛋”,蛋是对这一状态最佳的阐示。我同时做了一个孵化它的形态,期待它的诞生。

  我爱自然中的卵石,更爱抚摸它们,它们不仅深含沧桑,而更多的呈现一种清新、圆润,它们用富于变化的有机形体,留下了一些时间的印迹,而让我们的心灵感受到了一种生命活泼自由的韵律。我想我创造的“蛋”与自然界中的卵石有某种联接,我爱抚摸它,似乎能感受到它的律动。我的“蛋”与卵石一样同样呈述或者期待某种生命的奇迹。

  创造《卵》石的过程也是我与材料亲近的过程,我放弃了某些“造型”的主观,而依随材料的天性,我去掉了与材料的“对抗”而达到了材料与形态的合谐,我去掉了某些对环境的主观臆想的“设计”,而达到了环境与《卵》石的协调。

  In the ancient Chinese book“The Classic of the Virtues of the Tao”the origin of life is explained as an adexual reproduction called "xuanpin", the state of "xuanpin" is the origin of our life. I created an "egg",as it is the optimal interpretation for this state. I also made a certain form to incubate it so that it might come into being as soon as possible.

  I love to see and touch the natural pebbles. They not only witness the changes of time, but also present a kind of freshness and smoothness. By employing their variegated organic bodyk, they leave behind some traces of time so as to enable us to sense the rhythm of the carefree life. The "egg" I created is somewhat related to the pebbles in nature. I love to touch it as if I can sense its rhythm. I guess that my "egg" is ,same as the pebbles,to interpret or expect a sort of wonder in life.

  In the course of making this sculpture I became conversant with the material. I abandoned the subjective modeing but opted for its nature; I gave up the confrontation against material thereby realized the harmony between material and its conformation; I rubbed off some "design" based on the subjective surmise for the environment so that the sculpture matches well for the environment.
