女士们，先生们非常感谢能来参加这次画展的各位。德国是我父亲和我都很喜欢的国家。

　　早在我父亲上初中时，那时中国刚刚经历改革开放，影响他一生的外国文化有很多其中最为深刻的是德国文化，像文学家歌德，尼采，叔本华， 画家荷尔拜因，丢勒及大学时代很喜欢基佛，伊门多夫，博伊斯，里希特等。我的父亲大学毕业后到北京走上了现代艺术之路，这与德国的表现主义是密切相关的。二十五岁前，我的父亲迷恋于西方浪潮而二十五岁之后东方的魅力才吸引了他。而我们持续不断对传统的批判让我们这代人与传统有了深远的隔阂，这种恶果在中国慢慢地显现。

　　我的父亲推崇着自由的世界主义思维而他是站在东方的视角上的，从传统精神的精髓中找寻适合人类走向未来新世界的理想之路。交流总是能够给人们带来温暖的情感，这就像是一位女神一位超越信仰的女神，她无障碍地冲破狭隘的民族观，国家主义的铜墙铁壁，冲破贪婪的人类创造出的危险游戏，她带给人们无限的精神安慰，她是一缕阳光指引我们的美梦走向光明。

　　我们的世界需要自由而不放荡，富有尊严而不霸道，博大，包容，包含着一种怜悯情怀，自由与高贵的人格精神这种谦卑与高贵的合一是能够让万物合一的资本。

　　Ladies and Gentlemen,

　　It is greatly appreciated that everybody shows up and welcome you for joining this art show at Sylt in Germany this summer.

　　Germany is a great country that my father Mister Pang and I like very much. When my father was at the middle school, China was just undergoing opening and reforming. There are many western cultures that affected my father’s life. Among them Germany culture is the most impressive to him, for example, a German writer and artist Goethe, a German philosopher and poet Nietzsche and a German philosopher Schopenhauer; and a German artist Holbein, and German painters Durer, Kiefer, Immendorff, Beuys and Richter etc. After my father graduated from a college, he went to Beijing and participated in the modern art. The expression of his art is more close to the Germany’s expressionism. Before his age of 25, my father was loved in the western culture, but after that age, the eastern culture had been attractive to him. However, continued critical to the traditional culture that led to us far away from the traditional culture. The result appears gradually in China.

　　My father esteems the idea of freedom with his eastern thinking, and looks for the ideal road that fits humanity to the new future world from the traditional spirit. Art communications always give out warmth to people like a transcendental goddess who can be freely out of the limited national view and the impassable barrier of nationalism. Such goddess can give spirit comforting to people, and let people’s beautiful dreams be bright like a ray of sunshine. Our world needs freedom with no dissipation, dignity without overbearing, thoughtful and magnanimous. Such one from humility and grace can be capital of all creatures becoming one.
