Ms. ZHOU Qian
Shanghai Calligraphers Association
Dear Ms. ZHOU ,
It is our great honor to invite you to attend the opening ceremony of the Junior United Nations of Calligraphy held at the United Nations International School on April 18, 2014.
Inspired by the experience and remarks of the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that “calligraphy can build a bridge of mutual appreciation and mutual understanding”, the newly-established Junior United Nations of Calligraphy aims to connect people from different cultures around the world through calligraphy, “one of the world's long and great artistic traditions” and “a cultural heritage introduced to the world more than 2,000 year ago”, according to the Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Ambassador Li Baodong, former Permanent Representative of China to the UN. Its mission coincides with the spirit of cultural diversity and harmony in the world advocated by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the United Nations. To celebrate and support this meaningful initiative, the Secretary-General wrote the name of JUNIOR UNITED NATIONS OF CALLIGRAPHY in his calligraphy, which is used as the official logo of this new organization.
You are cordially invited to join us at the opening ceremony of this meaningful organization and share the excitement of its launch:
Time: April 18 (Friday), 2014, 3:00 – 4:00PM
Place: 3F, Library Conference Room
