Lacquer is an ancient oriental artistic material in China and one of Hubei's resource advantages. The land of Jingchu is rich in lacquer and has a splendid history and tradition of lacquer art. Professor Pu Meihe loves lacquer profoundly and employs it as her favorite artistic expression medium. As a female artist, she is able to settle down in the turbulent and fast-paced society. She has been exploring and studying the art of lacquer with perseverance over the years, thus forming her own artistic style and unique artistic symbols. I have observed a large number of lacquer paintings of her, of which the various styles including realism, abstraction, tradition, craftsmanship... and more.

Because Pu is well versed in the craftsmanship and nature of lacquer, she could create rich presentations in her artworks from different dimensions and perspectives, without any restriction or limitation. When looking at her work, your heart will be touched deeply and your mind will be fulfilled.

Throughout the years of Professor Pu Meihe's creation of lacquer art, it is not difficult to see her persistence in the meaning of lacquer, and the goal and pursuit of appropriate artistic languages. Today, Pu has already made great achievements in the lacquer art world. We could see her love for lacquer art from her heart, which is purely drawn by an inherent appeal from the natural materials.
