弗兰克·奥尔巴赫AuerbachFrank，1931年出生于德国的一个犹太家庭。英国当代艺术领军人物。

他的作品深受巴黎画派表现主义大师苏丁的影响，有形的机理、无形的力量深沉地相互交织，抽打着画面，他总是快速的拿着刷子在画布上纵横交错式的倾泻。通过笔触解构形象，不满意时再重新刮掉那些失败的尝试，多次的反复刮掉涂抹，使画面色彩、机理更加饱和丰富，既有凝重的稳固感，又有笔触之间揉搓拉起的运动感，视觉效果极其强烈。

Auerbach invited a small number of loyal friends to come to the studio regularly for him to paint portraits. Lambert is one of them. It's not easy to agree to let Auerbach paint his portrait, because it takes him months or even years to finish a painting.As a firm perfectionist, Auerbach is seldom satisfied with the result of one day's painting. He often scrapes all the contents of one day's painting and starts from scratch the next week.

For nearly 40 years since 1978, Lambert has been going to Auerbach's studio almost every week without interruption. "I occasionally miss Friday's visit because I'm traveling, but I'll make up for my lost painting time when I come back," Lambert said.
