冯博一
 
这是艺术家姚志燕在北京的首次个展。呈现了他2018-2021年最新的创作履迹。

 
20幅油画和32幅水彩、素描，针对于现代化城市中“陌生人”的概念，视觉形象既幽默，又荒诞，且黑色。
姚志燕笔下的“陌生人”，不仅是某个来自外来或潜在的让人感到疑惑的“异乡客”，更多地是指我们日常生活，尤其是在网络空间中，我们和匿名的陌生人在一起的共同境遇，抑或使自我，包括我们，都迷失在陌生人的群体里。瓦尔特·本雅明（Walter Benjamin）在《莫斯科日记: 柏林纪事》里写道：在城市中，一个人可能在“由街巷和地下道组成的迷宫”里“迷失自己”。但如果你想在城市里迷失，就像一个人迷失在森林里那样，则需要练习……
因此，姚志燕的作品都是围绕人与自我、人与人之间幽微的陌生关系，其想象力充满着混杂、孤寂和暧昧的情结，塑造和建立了一个自我封闭又无限延伸的世界，并在不确定的变幻中捕捉和固定那一个个片断的瞬间。而他钟情于空白、半透明和镜像的反射，其实是化解了由神秘造成的尴尬与压抑，如同被黑暗及光明所吸引的芸芸众生。当人们面对自身和他人难以克服的困惑时，对人性脆弱、无力的表现，才能使理解、宽容得以发生。
由此，他开始完成了一次自我的涉渡与接纳。

 


Curator’s words
 
This is the first solo exhibition of artist Yao Zhiyan in Beijing. It presents his latest creative track from 2018 to 2021.
Twenty oil paintings and thirty-two watercolors and sketches are aimed at the concept of Strangers in modern cities. The visual image is humorous, absurd, and black.
The Strangers in Yao Zhiyan's works is not only a Stranger who makes people feel confused from outside or potential, but also refers to our daily life.Especially in cyberspace, common circumstances that we stay together with anonymous strangers ,which may make myself,including us, lost in the group of strangers. As Walter Benjamin wrote in Moscow Diary A Berlin Chronicle: In the city, a person may Lost Himself in the Maze of Streets and Underpasses. But if you want to get lost in the city, just like a person lost in the forest, you need to practice...
Therefore, Yao Zhiyan’s works revolve around faint strange relationships between man and himself, man and man. His imagination is full of mixed, lonely and ambiguous complexes, shaping and establishing a self enclosed and infinitely extending world，trying to capture and fix those moments in uncertain changes. His passion for blankness, translucency, and mirrored reflections, which actually resolves the embarrassment and depression caused by the mystery, just like all mortal beings are attracted by darkness and light. When people face the insurmountable puzzles of themselves and others, only the performance of fragility and powerlessness in human nature can make understanding and tolerance happen.
As a result, he began to complete a journey of self-rescue and self-acceptance.
