缠枝纹，全称“缠枝纹样”，俗称“缠枝花”，又名“万寿藤”。因其结构连绵不断，故又具“生生不息”之意，寓意吉庆。缠枝纹是以藤蔓卷草经提炼变化而成，委婉多姿，富有动感，优美生动。缠枝纹与莲瓣纹、卷云纹、如意纹、回字纹等一样，都是中国古代艺术品的重要装饰纹样，广泛用于雕刻、陶瓷、家具、漆器、编织、刺绣、玉器、年画、剪纸、碑刻等，甚至连糕饼木范都离不开缠枝纹。

缠枝纹还是我国传统青花瓷中最主要与最具特色的装饰纹样之一，它最早出现于元青花中，到了明清两代，不论是官窑还是民器，比比皆是，从而成了青花工艺的最重要装饰语言。除瓷器外，缠枝纹还广泛用于各类艺术品中，如传统的插屏，其雕刻牙板几乎都用缠枝纹，而由插屏造型衍的“南京钟”更是离不开缠枝纹，因为对于一种计时器来讲，生生不息，万代绵延是最贴切不过的了。 缠枝纹之所以具有强盛的生命力，还在于它的变化多端，婉转多姿，它与不同的花卉组成不同的纹饰，常见的形式有“缠枝莲”、“缠枝菊”、“缠枝牡丹”、“缠枝葡萄”、“缠枝石榴”、“缠枝百合”、“缠枝宝相花”，以及“人物鸟兽缠枝纹”等。

此件缠枝莲方形盖罐宽13CM、高16CM做工考究，器型也是顺应了古人“天圆地方”的说法，罐身为方形，盖为圆形，“圆”是中国道家通变、趋时的学问；“方”是中国儒家人格修养的理想境界：“智欲其圆道，行欲其方正”。圆方互容，儒道互补，构成了中国传统文化的主体精神，罐身四面分别绘出了“招”“财”“進”“宝”罐盖绘出“萬”“事”“如”“意”总共八字寓意了人们对美好生活的向往，藏品整体规整，线条起伏得当，沉稳而不失清雅。通体以青花装饰纹饰繁缛，层次丰富，主次分明。釉面嫩白如脂，青花发色深沉，采用点染技法，以仿永宣青花苏料之特色。整体素雅内敛，花卉纹样带有古典装饰风格，端庄又大气。颇为难得。具有一定的历史价值与商业价值。
