吴博是成长于中国,教育在西方的千禧一代典型,这一代的其中一个显著特征就是身份很难仅仅从年龄、性别、种族和国籍去界定。经济高速发展和信息互联后催生了各行各业的蓬勃发展,也让千禧一代直面甚至亲身经历到这些高速带来的一些后果,比如环境问题,比如全球化问题。吴博的作品从工业化混泥土材料、金属架到都市化生活中常见的显示器、LED灯再到大自然中的青苔、鱼等等。不难会让人联想到工业化、城市化和大自然在以一种扭曲的关系相辅相成,相克相生,甚至形成了当下很常见的(hybrid)现象,不管是文化上、经济上还是社会构建上,这都是全球化的“后果”之一。他从求学期间对于个体行为的关注,利用生活场景、物件、行为、噪音和身体等元素,沉思并重置个体疏离感与周围环境之间的界定;到归国后用一种更加客观的角度反思自身,把对生命的重新理解用植物、动物体和环境的微观表述出来,构建一个全新的生态系统和自然仪式,带给大家一种沉浸式的艺术体验。

WuBo is a typical Millennial who grew up in China and educated in the West。 One of the salient features of this generation is that it is very difficult to identify them simply by their age, gender, race and nationality。 The rapid economic growth and the interconnection of information have given birth to a vigorous development of all professions and trades, and enabled Millennials to face or even experiment some consequences of high-speed development, such as environment issues and globalization。 Wu Bo’s work varies from industrial concrete materials, metal frame to the common display of urban life, LED lights and then to the nature of moss, fish and so on。 It is not hard to recall that industrialization, urbanization and nature are mutually connected and in a distorted relationship, that is to say, they are incompatible with each other and this forms a the very common phenomenon at the moment。 No matter in culture, economic or social structure, This is one of the “consequences” of globalization。 From the perspective of individual behavior during his study, he used the elements of life scene, objects, behavior, noise and body to contemplate and reset the definition of individual alienation and the surrounding environment。 After returning to China, he used a point of view which is more objective to think about himself , and to express a new understanding of life in terms of the microscopic plant, animal body and environment, and to build a brand new ecosystem and natural ritual which brings us an immersive artistic experience。
