鸡血梅花玉石是仅出产于我国湖北神农架的一种珍贵红色玉种，形成于中元古界富含深红色角砾的白云质灰岩中。因其玉化程度高，表面鸡血鲜红、呈大朵的团块装，如一丛丛盛开的梅花，又被称为鸡血梅花玉或鸡血红梅玉。其石点状、块状鸡血居多，掺杂有白、黑、灰等色彩，图案多似红梅。经过人工加工后，似一丛丛盛开的梅花，光彩照人，具有很高的观赏价值和收藏价值。鲜艳漂亮。

梅花鸡血石出产自湖北神农架，它以鸡窝形式生长于神农顶峰万丈悬崖之上。由于生长在原始森林，山高林密，常人根本无法攀登上去。此石颜色鲜红，又生长在山顶悬崖之上，非常难得。所以当地人称它为镇山宝石。作为观赏石，亦具有很高的观赏价值和收藏价值，所以此石取名鸡血梅花石。

经考证，梅花鸡血的产地就是古代“和氏璧”的产地。据司马迁史记记载，“和氏璧”出产在湖北荆山下，就是现在的神农架一带。因梅花鸡血石产自天下第一宝石和氏璧的故乡，加之它天生的石质、色彩、图案俱佳，所以它一出世，就受到广大石友的喜爱。由于产地险要，又属国家自然保护区，来之不易。因而就显得格外珍贵。

梅花鸡血石的工艺用途主要是制作印章、雕刻工艺品和原石摆件欣赏等。原石切割打磨成印章比较有难度，制作出一个印章不容易，打磨成摆件稍容易些，也非常漂亮。

After textual research, the origin of plum blossom chicken blood is the origin of "heshibi" in ancient times. According to Sima Qian's historical records, "Heshi Bi" was produced at the foot of Jingshan mountain in Hubei Province, which is now Shennongjia. Because plum blossom chicken blood stone is produced in the hometown of the world's first gem and Shi Bi, and its natural stone quality, color and pattern are excellent, it has been loved by the majority of stone friends since its birth. Due to the dangerous origin and belonging to the National Nature Reserve, it is hard won. Therefore, it is particularly precious.
