唐岱 (1673-1752后)〔清〕字毓东，号静岩，又号知生、爱庐、默庄，满洲正蓝旗人。承祖爵，任骁骑参领，官内务府总管，以画祗候内廷。山水画初从焦秉贞学，后与王敬铭、张宗苍同为王原祁弟子，名动京师。康熙帝甚赏其画，常召作画，赐称“画状元”。

两人均为清乾隆年间宫廷画师，此画长为100cm，宽为61cm，是《四十景图》彩绘本，是根据乾隆皇帝弘历的旨意，在乾隆九年(1744年)前后，由宫廷画师、词臣绘制而成的40幅分景图，此为局部，由著名宫廷画师唐岱、沈源二人绘画。由沈源画房舍，唐岱画土山树石，经实地描绘而后工笔精制而成的，具有极高的绘画艺术价值和历史文物价值。其特点有三，一是此图仅绘一套，无他可求。二是绘工精美，直观效果极佳，这在清宫同类彩图中，也是出类拔萃的。三是所绘建筑、泉石等景观，皆为写实风格(惟背景山势为写意)。因而它就成为后人领略圆明园盛期风貌的最直观最形象的珍贵史料，也可以称之为国宝，此幅虽为后代木板水印版本，但仍具有极高的历史价值与市场价值。
