欣闻吴强先生近期将赴加拿大举办个人画展，时逢回国办展有幸先睹了吴强的近作，不由深为感慨——一位企业型艺术家的成功奋斗之路。

　　“志在道，依其技，游于艺”这是吴强的企业精神，更是他个人奋斗的志向。

　　吴强1959年出生于中国陕西，自幼喜爱中国绘画，他的少儿时代正是在一片浓郁的中国文化氛围中成长起来，由于他的勤奋好学，练就了他扎实的绘画功底，於1979年考入了中央工艺美术学院装璜美术系。在该校众多知名艺术家的指导和自身的努力下，终以绘画和设计的优异成绩完成学业，并留校任教。

　　1988年，对吴强来说无疑是个重大抉择，他组建了北京展视会社这是他迈向企业型艺术家关键的一步。他将自己的实力定位于现代设计，将自己的潜力致力于中国绘画，开始实践他在大学时代就曾有过的理想。十年过去了，他的企业获得了成功，与此同时，他的绘画也获得了大的进展，此时的作品更显轻松自然、悠然飘逸，并借以现代设计于西方绘画的神采，不断强化着作品的内涵，尤其是他的写意花鸟，从方形画面的选择、构图章法的布局到笔墨色彩的运用，无不显现着时代的气息和他力图在中国画方面“传统出新”的努力。今天，他又要凭借企业之力远征西方，相信他在“中西融和”方面亦将会有新的发现和突破。

　　至此在期待吴强画展获得成功之际，亦期望有更多的中国艺术家在自己的领域内获得成功。为使古老的中国文化艺术家不断向前发展并进一步走向世界做出应有的贡献。

　　I am very pleased to hear that Mr. Wu Qiang is soon to hold a personal painting exhibition in Canada and [ am fortunate enough to see his latest works after returning home to hold my own exhibition. I have been deeply impressed with his works, which represent a new road to success for an entrepreneurial artist. "Determination in the ways and displaying of the full talents by relying on the skills mastered" -- this is the enterprising spirit of Mr. Wu Qiang and the ambitious personal goal.

　　Mr. Wu Qiang was born in Shaanxi Province in 1959. As a child, he cherished a fervent Jove for traditional Chinese paintings. He grew in a thick atmosphere of Chinese culture. Thanks to his industriousness and diligence, he was solidly grounded in the traditional Chinese paintings, In 1979, he was admitted into the Decorative Arts Department of the Central Institute of Arts and Crafts. Under the guidance of noted artists at school and his own efforts, he graduated from the school summa cum laude in painting and designing. For his good performance, he was asked to stay at the institute as a lecturer.

　　1988 was no doubt a year of major choice for Mr. Wu Qiang. He organized the Beijing Exhibition Company. This marked his crucial step forward toward becoming an entrepreneurial artist. He positioned his strength in modern designing and devoted his potential to Chinese painting, starting his great practice of realizing his ambitions cherished during his university days, It is already a decade past, His enterprise has proved to be a success and so has his career as an artist. His works have become more and more natural and relaxed, He has constantly intensified the meanings of his works by borrowing the idea of modern designing and the style of western style painting. His flowers and birds paintings are characterized by vivid expression and bold outline, His choice of picture, layout and execution of strokes all breathe with modernity, demonstrating his efforts to create things new in the traditional style, Today, he is going abroad to show his works in the West by the strength of his enterprise and I believe that he would make new discoveries and breakthroughs in the fusion of Chinese and Western styles of painting,
