掐丝珐琅工艺发展到清代以后，制作工艺比明代有所提高，铜胎更薄，并且无砂眼，掐丝也更细，彩釉也比明代更加鲜艳，花纹图案繁复多样，但不及明代的纹饰生动，镀金部分的金水较薄，但金色非常漂亮。

After the development of the silk enamel craft in the Qing Dynasty, the production technology was improved compared with that in the Ming Dynasty. 清代晚期，一直到二十世纪初，掐丝珐琅工艺发展趋于停滞，总体工艺制作水平都不及前代，掐丝珐琅的胎体较薄，色彩鲜艳但很漂浮，做工粗糙。这个时期只有“老天利”，“德兴成”，等作坊制作出的掐丝珐琅工细，质量较好。他们所烧造的掐丝珐琅器物，造型多为仿古铜器，或仿乾隆时期的一些掐丝珐琅精品，器物上的款识大都是刻款。
