在最近的十年里，魏新不像其他某些画家那样墨守成规。相反，他放下了固有的艺术观念，不断尝试新的绘画方法，开创了一个新的艺术境界，这对于画家本身似乎是不可预测的，但又是情理之中的。因为艺术家的生命力就在一种不断地“自我颠覆和自我确立”中生成。他放弃了过去那种画风，取而代之的是对画面的明确表达，一种对直观感觉的毫不含糊的表现。这不是一种纯粹的形式或是某种模式的几个组成部分，而是一种源于画家精神世界的有机外显体。

　　在绘画界中，魏新可以说是一位不断的探索者，他自己和他所理解的绘画也完全是一种另类。魏新凭借自己所认同的“艺术创造”的含义，可以使他不去重复以往的创作主题，为的是能更加集中地突出对具体事物的形式创造。对他而言，要他解释与生俱来的创造力其难度是可想而知的，因为它是诸种因素的结合体。因此，在他的作品中感觉是重要的，而且魏新将他所有注意力都集中在寻思这些感觉的概念上。

Yearning for the Holy World

　　In recent 10 years, unlike other old-fashioned artists, Wei Xin has deserted established artistic concepts, continuously trying new drawing methods. Thus he has opened a brand-new artistic horizon, which seems unpredictable yet reasonable for the artist himself. Because the life of an artist comes into being in the process of continuous “self-subversion and self-establishment”, so Wei Xin has given up his past styles; in stead, he has embarked on a definite expression of the drawing itself, or a clear-cut expression of the direct feelings. This kind of expression is not about a pure form or mode; in stead, it is an extrapolation inseparable from the spiritual world of the artist.

　　In the circle of fine arts, Wei Xin is an explorer who will never stop. He and the drawings in his mind are completely different from common understandings. He has his own ideas about Artistic Creation, which helps him not to repeat his past themes in creation. In this way, he can focus more on the formal creation about the actual matters. For him, it is formidable to explain his inherent creativity, because it is a conglomeration of many factors. Therefore, what is the most important in his works are his feelings. He has paid utmost attention to seeking such feelings.
