#抗击癌症#癌症突破2020。

这个月我们讲的是吸烟与癌症带来的广泛影响，以及每个人都能做些什么来减少自身患癌症的风险。抗击癌症需要合作、分享信息，并对癌症的治疗方法进行再思考。

2015年10月，在自己的儿子因癌症去世后，美国前副总统乔·拜登在一次演讲中呼吁开展“登月计划”来治愈癌症。他当时讲到的“癌症登月计划2020”（Cancer Moonshot 2020）就是如今的“癌症突破2020”（Cancer Breakthroughs 2020）。

这是一个在美国的联合体，旨在大力专注于迅速开发癌症新疗法，例如依靠疫苗开展的免疫疗法。这个联合体集结了跨国医药公司和生物技术公司的资源，以及学术研究人员和肿瘤专家，来鼓励针对新型免疫疗法迅速开展试验。项目希望能够进行再思考，研究如何治疗癌症，如何利用人的免疫系统，重新训练免疫系统来发现并摧毁癌细胞。

Over the past month we have looked at the wide ranging impacts of smoking and cancer as well as the steps each person can take to lower their risk of getting cancer. To fight cancer involves collaboration, sharing information and re-thinking our approach to this disease. In October 2015, former Vice President Joe Biden made a speech calling for a “moonshot” to cure cancer, after the death of his son to cancer. Formerly known as the Cancer Moonshot 2020, today the Cancer Breakthroughs 2020 is a coalition in the United States with the goal of aggressively focusing on the rapid development of new treatments for the disease, such as finding vaccine-based immunotherapies against cancer. The coalition pools the resources of multinational pharmaceutical and biotech companies as well as academic researchers and oncologists to encourage rapid testing of novel immunotherapy protocols. The organization hopes to rethink how cancer is tackled, using the body’s immune system and re-training it to detect and destroy cancer cells.
