在实现现代化过程中，人们往往致力于通过高科技，希望能高效率低成本地提供现代生活所需的硬件基础设施。而对现代生活方式的执迷，中断了传统的乡村生活方式：每个人都能使用自己的技能和专长为社区做出贡献。作为结果，现代化的“基础设施”并未能将人们联系在一起而是破坏了社区的联系。要建设更加全面和健康的现代生活，我们不仅需要的是现代化的硬件设施，而是能从日常的建造逻辑，集体的建造传统中学习更适宜当地的社区社区之道与可持续建造之术。

此次共展出三个作品：《中村竹桥一一技艺的传承系列》、《红旗下的蛋——狼牙山穹顶建造》、《穹顶树屋@树蛙部落系列》。在建造过程中，低技术实验室向当地传统工匠学习，开发一种标准化低成本的建造技术，重新定义基础设施，探索一种先锋的现代生活方式。

In the process of modernization, many efforts were dedicated to provide essential services of modern lifestyle for people with efficiency at low cost through high-tech infrastructure. It failed in doing so in many distant rural areas due to the great cost economically, culturally and environmentally. At the same time, the modern infrastructure interrupts the vernacular traditional life which allows each member of the community to contribute their skills and specialties in the tradition of collective building. The intangible culture and knowledge are lost while the community is falling apart rather than connected by the infrastructure. To support a more wholesome lifestyle, the value and logic behind the intangible building techniques should be fully exploited and plays a much essential role in the community life.

Three projects are exhibited: Bamboo Bridge in Zhongcun village, Geodesic-Dome Treehouse at Treewow Resort Series, The Egg Under The Red Flag—Geodesic Dome in Langya Mountains. During the construction, low cooperated and learnt from the local craftsman to develop a systematic building technique. At the end of the exhibition, we hope to discuss with the visitor: What is modern life for you? What is the essential infrastructure that we need to support such a lifestyle?
