第五届影像上海艺术博览会将于2018年9月21-23日回归上海展览中心。20日（周四）为藏家预展及藏家晚宴，21日（周五）为贵宾预展及贵宾之夜。

『焦点』是影像艺术博览会的常设版块，将在常规的参展画廊展位之外，持续不断地呈现前沿性展览，为藏家提供丰富多样的观展体验，感受摄影艺术令人难以抗拒的美学与智慧力量。『焦点』版块旨在聚焦于对当代摄影空间和当下市场具有特别意义的国际知名艺术家。

博览会很荣幸将于2018年『焦点』版块呈现杉本博司的展览《天国之扉》。杉本博司的作品展绘制了16世纪日本传教士的历程。这一系列大尺幅的壮观作品追溯了日本和西方之间历史与宗教的联系以及带来的文化交流焦点。

杉本博司1948年出生于日本。自1970年作为摄影师以来，他的作品通过探讨关于时间，经验主义与形而上学的主题表达了历史与短暂的存在。杉本博司屡获殊荣，他的作品亦被泰特美术馆，芝加哥现代艺术博物馆， 以及纽约大都会博物馆等机构收藏。

The fifth edition of PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai will run September 21-23 with a Collector Preview on Thursday, September 20 followed by an exclusive Gala Dinner. Friday, September 21 will present a VIP Preview and After Dark.

Spotlight is part of PHOTOFAIRS’ ongoing mission to present cutting-edge exhibitions. These focused initiatives give collectors a myriad of opportunities to experience a variety of presentations, which underline the formidable aesthetic and intellectual power characteristic of the photographic arts. Spotlight's main objective is to highlight an artist of international renown who is of particular relevance and importance to the contemporary photography space.

In 2018 we are delighted to present Hiroshi Sugimoto | Gates of Paradise an exhibition of Sugimoto's work that charts journeys by Japanese missionaries in the 16th Century. This series of imposing large-scale works retrace historical and religious links between Japan and the West shedding new light on cultural exchange.

Hiroshi Sugimoto was born in Japan in 1948. A photographer since the 1970s, his work deals with history and temporal existence by investigating themes of time, empiricism, and metaphysics. Sugimoto has received a number of grants and fellowships, and his work is held in the collections of the Tate Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, and the Metropolitan Museum of New York, among many others.
