王雪涛原名庭钧，字晓封，号迟园，中国现代著名小写意花鸟画家。他继承宋、元以来的优秀传统，取长补短。所作题材广泛，构思精巧，形似神俏，清新秀丽，富有笔墨情趣。创作上主张“师法造化而抒己之情，物我一体，学先人为我所用，不断创新”。画法上工写结合，虚实结合。他善于描绘花鸟世界的丰富多彩和活泼生气，又精于表现画家的心灵感受和动人想象。且尤善于描绘大自然中的小生命，如蝴蝶、螳螂、蝈蝈、天牛等，栩栩如生，引人喜爱。
