作品《壹》部分中的作品是用笔蘸上丙烯颜色“击打”在纸上的,从不同的方向,或向内,或向外击打,偶然性和理性控制并存。充满力度击打出的笔触和描画出的效果是完全不同的,尽管折断了许多的画笔,但我获得了期待已久的刺激和兴奋的状态,包括新鲜感。

《贰》和《叁》两个部分都是用炭精条画于卡纸上的,与其称之为素描,还不如直接说为作品更贴切,或许很久没有用碳素画画了,当黑炭条和纸面接触的沙沙声通过手指的触觉传递到躯体和大脑的感知系统里,并扩散到整个画室空间的时候,无限的快意覆盖了磨破手指和手掌带来的疼痛不已。

这几组纸上作品起始于二零一三年秋天至一四年底。很久没有用卡纸持续两年的时间这样的一个跨度画画了,开心的不得了,因为在这个过程中仿佛又一次找到了种回归直觉,回归原本,回归心灵,以及对尘埃的细微变化的感知状态,用一种轻松而如负释重的飘逸去获得的绘画境界。它让我的想象力不断的流出,在整个过程中更使得绘画语言纯化得到纯化,成为一个提供了源泉和动力的发动机。我发现其实当一个画家进入到这种状态的时候,作品的尺寸大小,材料选择已经不是最重要的了,对精神境界的相遇与相通提供了一个贴切的绘画表达方式,途径和出口。无所畏惧,死里求生,柳暗花明,精神愉悦,自由状态这些词汇完全属于追求艺术,热爱艺术的最佳理由和机遇。

艺术是让精神再生的一种特别的巫术,发自于内心,通过颜料和画笔探求心灵境界的触点和起点,越是直接,简单和明确,释放出的气息便越自由,真实和纯粹,这是这批作品形成过程给我的最大回报。往往当“假设,预期和目标”被直接,明确和发自于心的的独到语言所摧毁,那么独一无二和新鲜的东西才会诞生,这就是艺术的神奇所在。经验和技巧的建立并且在创造的过程中不断的去瓦解它可能带来的纠结,对艺术家而言是了不起的,因为往往这个时候艺术是真的碰触到了它的灵魂的密码和大门。艺术的创造不是来自无聊的加法,它是加减乘除的混杂过程,甚至我的艺术常常是诞生在减法和除法之后的乘法,加法是艺术最最无聊的过程。
所以,无论什么时候,我更相信内心的直觉,因为直觉从来不对我说谎。

Li Di: My onlyworking status is following my instincts.
Some of the works In the portfolio "one"were created by hitting canvas with paint brush dipped in acrylic, from all directions, inward or outward, with bothcontingency and rational control.These powerful hits resultin strokes which are completely different from conventional drawing, althoughmany brushes were cracked, I finally gained the stimulation and excitement that I had expected for so long, and freshness too.
Both part "two" and part "three"were drawn with charcoal on card stock,I would call them artwork rather thansketches,maybe it's been too long since I last drew with charcoal, when theblack stick touches the paper and makes shasha sound which delivers fromfingertip to the sense system in my brain, then fill the whole studio, the painon the fingertip and palm was soon erased byhappiness.

These groups of works on paper started between fall2013 and late 2014. It's been a long time since Itlast took such a long time to make drawings on card stock, I was excited, becauseit felt like I was returning back to instinct,nature, and soul, as well as the state that you can sense the subtle changes innature, you let go to come to a whole new level.
It let out my imagination, and purify the language,becoming an engine that constantly provide source and power. I found when the artist enters this sort of state, the size or material of the work is no longer the concern, theencounter and communication with spirit provides a proper method of drawing.Fearless, escapewithbarelife, brightening,happiness,freedom, all ofthese words are the reasons and opportunities to chase and fall in love withart.

Art is a special kind of sorcery that allows your spirit torebirth, it comes from your heart, seeking for the starting point of my spirit with paint and brush, the more straight forward,simple and clear, the more free, real, and pure my breath becomes, this is what Iget the most from this set of works. Usually when hypothesis, expectation, andobjective is destroyed by straight forward, clear, and sincere expression, aunique piece of work is give to birth, that is the magic of art. Theestablishment of experiences and skills and disruption of them during theprocess of creation to solve the problems they might cause, is terrific to theartist, for this is usually when art finds the key to the door of the soul.
Art is not created by humdrum addition, it's amixture of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, even sometimesmy artworks are born with the multiplication after subtraction and division,addition is the most boring art making process.
In the end, no matter when, I prefer to trust myinstincts, for it never lies.
