Solstiss is pleased to announce the winner of the 2014 Solstiss Award: Parsons School of Fashion Senior, Yuxin Zhang.

　　Ms. Zhang presented a dream-like Senior Thesis Ready-To-Wear collection using off-white, mostly geometric pattern lace incorporated into tops, capes, jackets and dresses. The collection was inspired by Chinese mythology, the Legend of the White Snake. The lace, selected for its serpent-like qualities, was vital in adding drama and mystery to the garments, recreating the glamor and the fantasy of a deadly yet gentle woman. The lace paired with pony hair, silk charmeuse, python and embellishment create wild yet elegant silhouettes. The 2014 Solstiss Award winner was also chosen to be part of the Saks Fifth Avenue yearly celebration. Garments from selected students are displayed in the Fifth Avenue store & windows. 　　About the Solstiss Award

　　The Solstiss Award was started in 2008. This annual design competition in collaboration with Parsons The New School for Design, awards the student who exemplifies excellence in the execution of a collection featuring Solstiss lace. Each year, 2 semi-finalists receive a sponsorship from Solstiss and the winner is awarded a trip to the lace wonderland at Solstiss in Caudry (Northeast France). During this trip, the recipient of the Solstiss Award has the opportunity to visit/tour the Mill and discover all of the secrets of lace. He/She will also enjoy a stay in the City of Lights, Paris.
