After bath, 2004 From March 22nd to April 12th this year, there will be an art exhibition at the Art64 Gallery in Guangzhou. This exhibition will display the Chinese Canadian artist Zhang Aiwei's works, with a theme of Sun & Life. Zhang was born in Macao and after nearly 20 years work in Hong Kong and Tai Wan, she immigrated to Canada in 1994 as a professional canvas painter. Her works combine realism with Chinese painting styles. Her works are strong in color, vivid and harmonious in style and her combination of eastern and western elements has seen her hailed both at home and abroad. Zhang's works are wonderful, whether scenic, still life or portraits. Her portraits are lively and emphasize shape and feeling, with inner worlds of vigor, youth wisdom, masculinity, determination and erudition revealed. Her portraits include Xie Dongmin, the previous vice president of Tai Wan, Wang Tiwu, the previous CEO of World Daily ,Mr. and Mrs. Fu from Korea and the CEO of Hai Suo Group. What should be appreciated is that every one seemed satisfied after viewing the finished product. Mr. Xie, who died last year, once remarked that, "The portrait Ms Zhang Aiwei painted for me is the one I love most." Lotus, 1997
