2000年8月第一次参加中国艺术博览会，因为四个同学合租场地我有3平方米的展线，参展作品都是美院课堂习作女人体，《大屁股的女人体》《迷茫的红衣自画像》《胖女人的爱情》《境语的女人》《欲望的梦》等七幅作品在第二天被牛莽看到，他是贵州人瘦小的个子带有着羞涩的坏样子，当时我的同学告诉他每幅作品的价格在3000千元、我要每幅价1万元，他说我是学生作品不应该这么高的价，因为他从博览会直接去机场、他坐在随身的行李箱上时、我们开始了初次的谈判，我说到从学画到中央美术学院走过的路与这么多年的坚持画画，作品不能因为是学生来决定、认真的沟通后他每幅一万元收藏我的作品，当时围观的人很多都有点惊傻了，我就是这样平和而谈定的把我美院期间的课堂习作七幅作品被收藏了，我并没有感到喜悦，因为牛莽这不是他的真名字，第一次这么多的画被一个人收藏，我为我的画担心，后来我们成了朋友，才知真名叫王飞、他小时候学画对画始终有隔舍不下的情结，在创业经济拥有的今天寄托于收藏艺术品，当他看到触动他的画，就像吸毒一样，必须要得到手，2001年他收藏了我所有在美院期间的版画230幅，在北京装裱好，托运6个大集装箱到贵州。隆隆的火车声鸣笛着我这么多年耕耘的绘画果实运往远方••••••后来他送给我很贵的画册如弗洛伊德、梵高等!真的感谢王飞先生赋予我职业画画道路上的起点••••••这次博览会下来我从10平方米每月180元的房子换到30平方米每月330元的房子里。

　　It was the first time that I participated in China Art Fair in August, 2000. On the exhibition, I rented a booth with other three schoolmates, so I had an 3㎡exhibition space. All my works on the exhibition were about women’s bodies, the class exercises in the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Among them, 7 works like “A Woman with Big Butt”, “Self-portrait of Lost in Red Clothes”, “Love of A Fat Woman”, “A Woman in A Context” and “Dream of Desire” were founded by Niu Mang the second day. Niu Mang was a thin and small guy from Guizhou, a little shy and wicked. My schoolmates’ quotation was 3,000 Yuan per work, but mine was 10,000 Yuan. Wang Mang said, I was a student and shouldn’t ask for such a high price. He sat on his trunk since he would go to airport directly from the fair, and we began our first negotiation. I told him what I had experienced from learning oil painting to entering into the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and my persistence in art these years, so my works shouldn’t be undervalued for my student status. After serious communication, he bought all my works with 10,000 Yuan each for collection. All people before the booth were shocked. In this way I easily sold my seven class exercises that had been created in the Central Academy of Fine Arts. But I was not happy because I knew Niu Mang was not his real name. It was the first time that so many works of mine were collected by the same collector and I was worried about my works. Later I knew his real name is Wang Fei after we became friends. He had learnt painting when he was a kid, and had strong complex on the art and kept collecting artworks after he started his own business. When he saw works attracted him, just like a drugger, he had to get them. In 2001, he collected 230 prints I created in the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He mounted them in Beijing and consigned them to Guizhou in 6 containers. The train was whistling and running ahead, with my art achievements accumulated for so many years…Later he sent me some expensive albums like Freud and Van Gogh’ s collections. I really appreciate Mr. Wang Fei, who gave me a jumping-off of the road of art profession. After this fair, I moved from a 10 ㎡ house to a 30 ㎡house, and the rent rose from 180 Yuan per month to 330 Yuan per month.
